    Morning Peeps,

What a horrid day yesterday turned out to be. I'm sorry if some of you were upset by my post in the afternoon. I should have thought a bit more before I posted it shouldn't I? It was a bit too close to home for me too as I had real problems sleeping last night.

It wasn't just because of the poor lady though, Mr Frog was unable to get back and had a night out in the lorry and I really hate that. I keep hearing "bumps" in the night  and then once I'm awake that is that

I was also wressling with the problem about my car again and wether or not to keep it or get rid , yes that old chesnut  Yesterday was day 1 of cycling to work again and it was auful. It was SO windy , I would have been quicker walking. It took me over an hour to get there and I was absolutly exhausted and then dreading the journey home all morning. It took me an hour and a half to get home as the wind and driving rain made it tourture. I really don't want to bike. I really don't. I also kept thinking that if the tadpoles had a problem at school I would have to call a taxi to get to them! And I came home and comfort ate :o

Mr Frog phoned and we had a long chat about it. We can't affoard two cars, or I am basically working for nothing. We have come up with the plan that Mr Frog will take his motorbike to work unless it's treacherous and then I'll will drive him and keep the car. I will get rid of my car this week as it's in the paper for £50 and if it proves too difficult I will have to get another run around.

I think it is true to say that since reading how people on here manage I have become very OTT about moneysaving and that it isn't always going to make for a very nice life. Mr Frog said we will pay off our debt, just a little slower if we have to get another car. There is a balance between not wasting money but not having a really carpy time because of economising. When Mr Frog was a self employed delivery driver we accumulated £18,000 worth of debt. It sounds bad but actually non of it was our fault. Well, not all of it :o Bad decision making, bad accounting and bad luck I guess  He stuck with it for 5 years to try and make it work , but it didn't and we just got more and more in debt. Eventually he had to call it a day. We are now paying off the debt at £250 a month for the next 7 years and my thought was that I'd make over payments with the amount saved from not having a car. That was the idea anyway  I guess we will get there though.

I'm sorry I'm a moaning ald bag this morning. Can you tell I've been on my own?;) I think I set myself up for a fall because I set ridiculously high targets and then are not good enough to live up to them so now I'm dissappointed :o

Hope you all have a better day. Will post later xxxxxxxxxxx

    Morning all!

frogga - we dont mind you having a moan, you're the first one to listen to our woes, also you're not alone in paying off debt. I'm in the same boat with just under 3 years to go. Re the car it sounds like a good solution if mr Frog can use his bike most of the time and you keep the car:T I understand how you feel about needing it if one of the tadpoles was ill or something. Forget that comfort eating and get cracking again on the healthy eating. Its a new day today.xx

Off to work later doing an 11 hour shift followed by a sleep-in followed by a 10 hour shift:eek: lots of meals at work to cope with and I dont know whats on the menu so am taking a HM veggie lasagne from the freezer for tea. Lunch is easier to cope with as we always have a well stocked kitchen at work but will also take some fruit and yoghurt as well. weigh in tomorrow night. i feel like I have done a lot better this week so am hoping for a small loss. Did a fair bit of exercise yesterday but probably wont do much at work.

    B - muesli

    banana/clementine

    L - ? something healthy at work

D - HM veggie lasagne with salad probably.

    low fat yoghurt.

have packed a SW hi-fi bar in my sleeping in bag as emergency rations!:D

    have a great day all

    take care xxx

    Morning all

Morning frogga  .... go on girl...get it off your chest :D ..... i know what you mean about finding the balance between saving the pennines but not suffering to do it. I am becoming super duper frugal, but im being careful not to make life a misery... as all that will happen is we will end up thinking "b*gger it" and having a splurge ;)
Im lucky as i have a hubby who isn't into cakes n snacks etc... and loves nothing more than a chicken dinner or salad -with anything. Plus i have de-programmed him from the food "brand must haves" it used to be heinz beans etc ... now he doesn't care :T .

All our bills come out of hubbies wages or bank account and i just deal with the house keeping which is just for food. toiletries, cleaning stuff... so my mission is to save as much as i can from that. So i have set myself a €200 a month budget.... i get between €400-€500 a month so now im hoping to squirrel away all i can - hence the new bank accounts :p

I think you are doing right with the car.... if it is costing you 2 1/2 hrs a day in travel time...just think what you could get done with that time at home!!! Some extra batch baking to save cash, shopping at different times to try and catch the "whoopsie" times etc.... plus you won't get home feeling like a bag of poop tied in the middle :T

    Meanmarie
Im sorting out ready for growing lots of veggies, have some potatoes and onions in, and some peas underway in peat pots... Im growing mainly in containers...although im getting hubby to dig a wide border so my peas n beans can go straight in the ground.
I think there is nothing nicer than going into the garden and picking the salad for dinner... plus -less trips to the shops means less temptation ;)
We are taking a ride out at the weekend as i have had a leaflet from a store that are doing packs of seeds -including veggies for €1.50 for 10 packs :T ... so at that price i have to have a look :p

Cheerfulness.... x stitch isn't too bad an addiction is it :p .... hubby found out yesterday that he is on duty tomorrow -so will go out about 7am and not get back until about 10am on thursday -so i am planning on sitting on the recliner and sewing my heart out :j ....
Wait until you get your hands on a DMC kit or threads they feel much softer and less tanggly-if thats a word :p .
Some of the kits can be very expensive can't they? -but when you work out how much time they fill i reckon its quite a reasonable hobbie, especially if you store all your leftover threads. you soon end up needing to just buy patterns :T

Well its salad and potatoes for dinner tonight, hubby wants cheese with his but i think i will have ham again - need to slice the rest up and freeze it...

Im staying in today -so will probably get some more x stitching done... and then some knitting -if i can put my x stitch down :rotfl:

well i hope everyone has a good day.... keep up the good work everyone :D

Morning taplady..you snook in whilst i was typing..hope work goes ok...

    Morning ladies:hello:
Frogga - we don't mind you moaning, I'm going to have a moan myself today, Not feeling very good today, I've got a cold starting so got some tablets on the way into work but think I might be overdosed on caffeine as I feel a bit twitchy..... On top of that, OH is playing sillyB's on the job front again and wouldn't go to work this morning so I'm really p*ssed off with him now:mad: I really could do without his childish antics at the moment.....

I had a couple of biscuits last night but otherwise was ok, I brought my toast and marmalade with me today, I've just had a banana and have got salad, oatcakes and hummus for lunch with some fruit. Tea will be Cauldron sausage and mash with a veg of some sort - not sure what I've got in the fridge.
I've brought my swimming stuff but will see how I feel at lunchtime.
    See you later girls :A

  • Well you know I think I might join you girls in a little moan of my own today, seeing as I'm not alone. My knees are KILLING me and I'm really disapppointed because I'd planned to start my walking this week.
I was all organised. I was going to count so many houses along the road, once I'd past 20, I was going to turn and walk back. For me that would be quite a strenuous workout. :o I'm fine in a supermarket where I can lean nicely on my trolley but when its just me, well... its a struggle. As the weeks went by I was going to increase the houses until I made it to the library where I can get a coffee. (and my breath back ;) )

Instead I have thrown myself into my housework early this morning, sitting every few mins to rest the 'pins'. But they HURT. :( Nevermind, I'll push on after this little break and hopefully the painkillers will have kicked in by then. :)

Frogga - I do find the nights the worse if I'm feeling off it, especially if DH is away working which thankfully is rare now. I can get very morbid and things just overwhelm me. Even this week with him here, I don't think I've had one decent night sleep, I've been awake for hours feeling anxious about all and everything. I did suffer very badly from anxiety attacks for many years, still haven't completely gone, and I find when I tackle my weight issues they get far worse. Which is one of the reasons that I'm sticking to this thread like glue. Feel quite safe with all you lot. :)

    Aloha you gorgeous lot!

Last night update - had tacos, rice and salad for dinner - didn't over do it... but also had a thumb sized piece of jam rolly poly i'd made on Sunday with some leftover pastry (!). Pineapple for desert and a few raspberries. I DID turn down a chocolate teacake though, and I love them.

    Today is a new day.

Breakfast: 2 x crumpets, low fat spread and marmite
Snack: HM flapjack (small piece, cashews and raisin)
Lunch: tin of tomato & 3 bean soup (no room in freezer for home made as did a big shop at weekend), lemon and lime yoghurt, orange, few pieces of pineapple and a couple of raspberries
Dinner: HM spinach, ricotta, broccoli and mushroom lasagne, salad

    xx

Well first day went ok - managed not to eat my own body weight in pies after the shock of finding out how much I weigh yesterday

    Today
    - breakfast - weetabix
    - lunch - HM pea and ham soup
    - dinner - don't know yet, probably some mega salady thing as I have lots to use up - I'm stilll in the process of sorting the cupboards out and *gulping* gettting rid of food. The OS bit of me hated it but having pate and half open packs of biscuits and nuts is just too much temptation. I also brought in a tin of chocolates to work today - let them eat them rather than have them sitting winking at me :)

    Good luck today xx
