frogga - hope you enjoy the film with the kids this afternoon to cheer u up. After reading what you said about the job I thought back to all the opportunities over the years I'd let slide because of my weight issues. It's hard, isn't it?
Keiss - well done to your son. :T
Well, I had my weigh in and I lost 6 and 3/4lbs.I hadn't expected that! I'm only 3/4lb off getting my outhouse cleared out. :j
Did occur to me that if I'd laid off the bara brith and not cooked twink's hobnobs yesterday (I had loads of kids round, I was showing off) I might have been getting the outhouse done today.
Anyways, the male folk in the house are suitably quietened, and have ceased to regard this as another one of mums fads. That taught them.
Hope you all have a good weekend.
Hope MrsM is okay.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

Hi cheerfullness ~ yes, I know exactly what you meen about missing things because of weight. I made Mr Frog go to a family event last year on his on because of the weight that I'd put on! We pretended that both Tadpoles were not well just so I wouldn't have to see anyone. Pathetic isn't it?
Hi Tappy ~ I have worked out that I don't have THAT much longer to put up with my job. It's only 5 weeks til 1/2 term. Then another 5 weeks til Easter. Then 6 weeks til 1/2 term again and then only 3 til I break up for the summer. That's 19 weeks of actual work and if I hand in my notice 4 weeks before the start of term in mid september I'll be paid for 9 months and only actually be at work for 19 weeks. My God , the things I do to while away the time!
Where is MrsM? Hope all is well , haven't seen you since you got homeSay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

It is sad isn't it, I think I spent the best part of 15 years in limbo waiting for me to be slim and my life to start and all to be good with the world. Then one day I just thought this is my life and fat or thin I'm going to live it, applied for jobs, started a social life even took up scuba diving:o. I've got about two stone to lose now and I'll get there eventually:rolleyes:.If I don't think I'm worthy of a good job and a life then no one else might:eek:
I am worthwhile and one of my resolutions this year is not to let anyone try and imply that I'm not:p
Oh dear am I getting carried away here?0 -

I'm ashamed to admit that I did exactly the same with my uncle's funeral. I felt dreadful but I couldn't face the rest of the family staring at me and thinking, 'wow, look at the size of her now.' I made my excuses surrounding the kiddies, too.
I found it interesting that saversan felt the same with only a couple of stone to lose. Thinking about it, years back when I was just 2 stone overweight compared to my 10 stone now, the feeling was exactly the same. The amount of weight I had to shift made no difference, I still felt humiliated by it. The only difference is now that my weight effects me more physically, but mentally I think I am probably on a equal pegging with my younger, lighter self. If anything, I'm probably coming from a better position because I've become stronger mentally.
Okay, waffling. Off for a cuppa.:oMAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

Frogga,
The reason I want to lose weight is because I have lots of lovely clothes in my wardrope, and cannot fit into them. I also want to feel better about myself, and we are hoping to go on holiday this year, so, I would love to look good in a bikini (I wish).
I havent read through all the posts yet, but, hoping to do that tomorrow if I can, so, Im hoping to pick up lots and lost of tips and recipes.
Looking foward to getting to know you all.

Hi all, can I join you too? My DD will be 1 on the 22nd of jan so I'm still blaming my extra weight on her. The week of her birthday I'm cutting work down to one day a week. Would love to be a full time SaH mummy, but cant quite manage it, but it means I'll have lots more time to cook proper meals and teach DD about healthy choices, well thats my plan anyway. I need to loose about a stone, 1½ would be great, as I'm still breastfeeding I cant diet as such, but I can start eating better.
The problem I have now is mixing the healthier food with saving money, so I'm here for some tips. DH is a meat lover, so I bulk my food out with vegies, but I find all the lean meat is so much more expensive. Today I've bought a lamb shoulder to use for a curry, only £3 odd, but its so much fat and bane, its taken me ages to trim it and it's still much fattier than say a leg steak.
Hope to be back regularly

hi all!
cheerfulness well done on your loss!:T :T :T thats brilliant! and you were right that it doesn't matter how much overweight you are, you still feel unhappy with yourself.
did'nt get time to make the soup for lunch so had lunch of clementine, banana and SW bar in the car on the way to get DS1, just got back and had a small slice of toast to tide me over till later.
Got loads to do so must get a shift on .back later xxxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Hi all!
Had a good start today by having a bowl of porridge for brekkie and slicing a peach and sprinkling cinnamon into it.
Then had a phonecall offering me a trip to Ikea!!So I went - took my brekkie and ate it in the car as hadn't had time to eat it! lol
BUT then I felt really good when they had fried breakfast and I just had a cup of tea!!
But come lunch time and we were still out as we ended up going around a few tile shops and bathroom shops too and we ended up at KFC!
I had a cajun burger meal which was a chicken bit with an onion ring, tomato, lettuce and spicy sauce in a bun. And fries.
I didn't go large though, and don't like pop so just had another cup of tea.
Not sure exactly how maughty that was??
It had tomato in it and lettuce so surely it can't have been THAT bad???!??
Anyway I then spent 3 hours - yes 3! Scrubbing the floor to get rid of allthe muddy pawprints and scrubbing the patiodoor too! As well as other bits and bobs of housework. Walked dogs too so might have burnt a bit of my 'accident' off?
Anyway I am now going to have a relaxing bath and when I get out we will have tea.
Cooking some nice beef and chopped carrots in chopped tomatoes and ah! bisto
Will serve with pasta and roasted veg. I think that sounds pretty healthy?? I hope so! lol.
Might have a glass of wine too.
What does everyone think? Will the meal be healthy enough to warrant a glass of rose? Or have I been too naughty already??Dream of being mortgage free....
