Morning All
Well I've put another .5lb on this week. However, I did sort of expect it and the last of the parties are over now. AF is also here which is always a danger time so planning on getting back on track now. It will be easier when I'm back at work on Monday but until then I'll just have to try and avoid the biscuits which we had for Christmas!
JillD - sorry to hear your friend has moved away - it's such a support when you know there's someone you can turn to at any time.
Hope everyone's well
Have a good day

I think I'm doing OK...only mishap was a new carton of the 'proper' cranberry & mango juice got dropped & split, so I had over a half pint to drink in one go cuz I couldn't find a bottle to decant:mad: Thing was I only got it as a treat for me for xmas--& it being BOGOF-- still, it counts as 5-a-day so no real harm I s'pose... testing time will be taking Pup out for a run, & we'll see who does the running----him for the fun or me for the loo:rotfl: :rotfl:
Quick question time, if I may?- I've rediscovered seeds, as in sesame, pumpkin etc cuz I don't do nuts...should they be an 'amber' food? Ditto the dried soup mix & assorted pulses.
- Is the daily Express diet advice this week any good? I've the paper, but not had a chance to read it all yet:o
- Do you defrost the home-made versions of lasagne, sheep pie, casseroles etc before cooking for the meal? And do you 'cook' pasties & pastry before or after freezing, cuz either way mine don't go right:( & ends up soggy---but then we shouldn't be having pastry so perhaps I'll give that one a miss:rolleyes: ....then again I could make them for the offsprings lunch boxes....& now I've got a headache!
- Can you make corned beef 'fishcakes'...my lot don't eat fish, so thought about using a tin of bully to make rissoles...SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!
- Have you blitzed baked beans before adding to sheep pie etc.....I have & it's BRILL!!!! Offspring didn't make any protest or start picking them out so made the meat go further:T
Have a good one!

Morning Peeps,
On here late today as I got straight on with my jobs this morninJust come back from walking the hounds and it was cold but nice and refreshing!
Bigmumma ~ not sure about the answer to ANY of your questions!Don't know what you mean by amber foods? Do you mean not as good as grren , but not as bad as red? Well, as a vegan I eat pulses everyday and seeds too, they are essential for my protein intake and very good for you. I guess like nuts though you can't have bucket fulls of the stuff!
Hope everyone else has a good day and is well. I can't stay on here too long as we have a busy day today. Taking the Tadpoles into town to the flicks to see St Trinians and then to Pizza Hut for a treat. I already feel fed up about the amount the pizza will cost me as I know it will be expensive and when you compare it to how much it will actually cost to make, it hurts! Still, Tadpole 1 will be 12 next week and we NEVER do this sort of thing so she is REALLY looking forward to it. I'll just try not to think about it and let them have a nice time.

Hi all, frogga, taplady, mrsm and everybody
Was good yesterday. Instead of puddings or sweet stuff this week we've been having an options hot choc (mint one was only £1.50 in Lidl this week so will be going back to see if they have any more).
Got on the scales this morning and seem to have lost all that I put on in the last few weeks so quite pleased about that
Breakfast was porridge with stewed apples and raisins.
Lunch is tuna bean salad
Tea is beef stew (in the slow cooker)
Snacks are clemantines and a banana. Have to pop out for some bits later so hopefully won't be tempted by anything elseDo you defrost the home-made versions of lasagne, sheep pie, casseroles etc before cooking for the meal?
Sorry this is the only one of your questions I can answer - yes I defrost them. I'm far too impatient to let them cook in the oven long enough from frozen and end up with a horrid cold middle bit otherwise!!!I just put them in the fridge the night before to defrost slowly then cook for about 20 mins or so in the oven to heat through
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Morning everyone, hope you are all doing fine on this freezing cold day. I had a stunning day yesterday - NOT
Having decided to make HM pizza yesterday I made the base (well OK my breadmaker made the dough) and I put it to rise on the back of the cooker. An hour later, my OH passes the kitchen and says he can smell burning. I rush out to find that I must have somehow knocked the hob controls and turned on the back ring...yes, the one under my lovely pizza dough
The middle was, well, a biscuit would be a kind way to describe it. Being MS I decided to cook it anyway and my OH and the kids could just eat around the edges:rotfl: :rotfl: I had the biscuitty bit - yuk! The topping was nice anyway.
Then, there I was, quite happily watching CSI when 3 yes 3 crunchies commited suicide by leaping into my mouth when I wasn't looking..:EasterBun
so on the whole...not a brilliant day
Today, I WILL BE GOOD!
Brekkie, 2 toast and cheese spread
Lunch Jacket potato, beans and a bit of cheese
Tea, HM Spaghetti Bolognaise (lots of spag and a little bit of bol for me!)0 -

Morning all,
About to have a houseful of teenagers descend on me and still in my yetti bath robe so best make this quick.
Bigmumma - don't know about amber foods either and don't take the express but I do know that you can make corned beef style fishcakes and they are nice fried in the pan or (and I prefer this way) cooked on a baking sheet in the oven until they crisp up.
I don't usually defrost my lasagnes and sheep pies but do my casseroles. Habit I guess or maybe because often casseroles get added to yorkies etc.
As regards pastry, I used to cook and freeze quite successfully but now I mainly freeze uncooked. I just like the result better altho I still freeze a few cooked sausage rolls for pack ups in the morning. (ditto HM pizza slices)
Jilld - hard when a good neighbour leaves, isn't it? Lost mine last year, too. Wish the other side had gone.
Well I have my very first weigh in tomorrow so I'm expecting trouble today. Usually do a lovely sabotage job on myself the night before. Amazing how it can mess with my mind. Still I shall visualise mouse pee on everything and think of that messy outhouse being cleaned when my first 7lbs off.
(for anyone that doesn't know, the 3 males in my house have agreed to do a job for me for each half stone off without resistance.
I've added cleaning out the greenhouse and washing my pots and tray to my endless list. Hate that job because of the spiders. Bit OT but got a great tip somewhere for others that garden, store your empty pots down the legs of your tights, that way spiders can't get in. Can't wait to see DS2 struggling with my extra larges. :rotfl:AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £58.95/ £250
