Newlywed ~ my Mum was always of the opinion that there will always be plenty so no need to buy early , however my local Sainsbugs had no selection boxes left, no Roses tins, no choccy coins and no Toblerone!! Disaster!

The most annoying thing today was that half the staff of sainsbugs were blocking the aisles with large boxes and trolleys while filling the shelves!! And none of them would move and nor would anyone else stopped blocking the way whilst daydreaming about which bit of meat to buy !!!

  • Hi there

My name is Protogenia, hope you dont mind me joining this thread but I soooo need some support and help.

I have just bought some scales and weighed myself for the first time in about 3 years.
I could have keeled over in shock when I got on the scales, and they clocked up a fat-tastic weight of 13 stone 10 pounds.
I have put on 3 stone and 10 pounds in those three years (I knew I had got a little chubby lol but I thought maybe 21 pounds at most) but no, I have 52 pounds to lose.

So I would love to join you all in losing weight - I know it's Christmas in a few days and weight loss is difficult at this time but I see it as, If I can lose weight now I can do it anytime.

Starting from tomorrow (21st December) I have set myself a goal, get to 10stone by July 1st 2008. That gives me six months.

Good luck everybody else, I look forward to chatting with you all. :T

It's a shock when you finally step on those scales isn't Protogenia? :D

You're only 10 pounds or so heavier than me and i expect to overtake you in the next few months as baby grows. But getting into good habits now will help get rid of the wieght once it is born. Good luck getting to 10 stone! <dreams>

Had rubbish lunch again but good breakfast and making peppers stuffed with butternut squash for dinner. Once the weekend comes round i will have time and energy to make a few meal plans and just get organised. Where I fall down is being tired and disorganised so end up eating easy stuff rather than healthy stuff.

Got loads of lovely clementines in to munch on, and rice cakes topped with a bit of hummus are proving good at abating huner pangs till mealtimes.

    Hi All

Lots of Christmas goodies around at the moment. Had a Christmas party at school yesterday so I stuffed myself.:o I didn't have any dinner or tea though as I ate so much in the afternoon.

Weigh in tomorrow but I'm not holding out much hope.

    Hope everyone is well

Well.. I have been lurking.. everyone is doing so well.. and as usual I'm not.. and I am actually getting a bit depressed about it.. good thing this week is I have been running on painkillers so the exercise has probably quadrupled!!

I've cleaned and shopped and wiped and danced and all sorts.

I am living on satsumas just about.. definitely covering the 5 a day! lol

I've cut portion sizes .. I can always go get seconds if I am still hungry but I do eat everything on the plate!

I think my issue.. other than not eating enough is that I have 2 sugars in my tea and drink abotu 40 a day!!!!!!

Does artifical cacky sweetener actually help? Is it better for those a bit lardy who wish to be less lardy?

Hiya Frogga, well I picked Maggie not for her politics but because she is a strong, determined woman and while tackling this weight, that is what I need to be.

Having my last pig out tonight before start O/S style slimming tomorrow...so I will toddle off and eat my last homemade flapjack.

  • Hello Everyone - just a quick few minutes online - I have been so rushed the last few days I haven't been on the computer at all - however I did fall off the no-diet diet wagon in spectacular fashion yesterday and today hasn't been much better:o - Never mind - I have had worse binges and I am going to get back on the no-diet thing tomorrow as I do feel so much better on it.

I haven't read the posts but just skimmed through and see that there are some newbies so welcome! This is a really great thread and I love to browse through and see how well everyone is doing.

I went to Sainsburys today and it was okay - not much of a crowd at all and I got some lovely last minute gifts half price AND 3 for 2 so bargains! Got some wine and glasses reduced to 12.50 from £25 - so got three lots for £25 and got these ceramic muffin mixing bowl thingies reduced from £10 to £5 and so got 3 of them for £10 too! I resisted the urge to buy nuts and crisps as I know I will only stuff them and we don't need them, so I bought lots of nice fruit and some dates and figs. I made a huge batch of shortbread christmas trees and half coated them in chocolate yesterday and then packaged them up into jars tied with Christmas ribbon - so they will do for Teachers presents.

DD2 finishes school tomorrow and DD1 finished yesterday. Well off to make some gingerbread now for presents!

Hope you are all well and looking forward to Christmas.
