  • Afternoon everybody X

Thank you Rockie :) It's nice to be here.

Having a good first day so far. Had oats, pumpkin seeds ('alf price in Holland & Barrat) raisins and organic milk for brekky. It was suprisingly scrummy and sweet...then I set about for the next three hours making the house semi-immaculate. Hoovering, pot washing, floor cleaning & polishing etc. That must have burnt off some calories as I was warm and slightly out of breath when I had finished.
For lunch I have just had pate & cucumber on toast...missed out the marg which was good for me. Didn't have a couple of biccys afterwards like I normally would, I had a cup of coffee, that seems to have knocked my urge for biccys on the head.

Shall be taking my three dogs out this afternoon for a good walk...great, free old style exercise and tonight instead of a glass of wine with the other half I shall have wrap up my last few prezzies to keep my hands busy and indulge in some yummy glasses of filtered water.. :rotfl:

It seems a bit chillier today than it has been recently, time to get another jumper on. Central heating is on 17 and I refuse to take it any higher...however I do have my fingers crossed for snow on Christmas day.

Hope you all have a fan-tabulous day and a seasonally snug weekend.

    Regards Genia X X

Afternoon all....have been wearing my midwife hat for last couple of days, in hospital with a friend for labour and birth, baby girl all well...eating when what and how I could so food has been anything but healthy, weightwatching or MS! Forgot to weigh until I had eaten this morning so will leave it for tomorrow.

Today I have eaten...porridge with milk

Lunch...toasted sandwich, slice of brown bread with tuna spread on top, coffee

Dinner will be roast of beef to feed the 5000, accompanied by mash, mashed carrots and parsnips, leek gratin. No pudding

    Good luck to all

Pigpen - when I used to take sugar in my coffee I found sweeteners tasked yuk so I gradually cut down eg went from a heaped teaspoon to a flat one. When I got used to that went to 3/4 then to 1/2. It was so gradual I didn't notice it much (and made sure initially I didn't add any extra in). Now I can't drink it with any sugar in at all as it's too sweet!! ;)

I did try that years ago.. but I just knew it wasn't there and just couldn't drink it..

Me too piggy ~ when I was a tadpole my parents used to put sugar in our tea and we had sugar on cereal et.c . Once I grew up I stopped having it and now I think it tastes auful if someone accidentally puts sugar in my tea. I defo think you get used to it . As for sweetners I think there are health concerns about them. I think they are banned in the USA because of the links to cancer ( well, that's what My Mum says ;) ) Perhaps like newlywed said you could cut down a small little bit at a time , then maybe you wont notice so much  Good luck :D

    Yes , that is yucky!!!

Have you ever eaten so much that you're bored of it? No? Oh, must just be me then!!:rotfl:
Well done Marie for doing your "Florence Nightingale" bit. I would love to have been a midwife but I'm not very sympathetic. If they made a fuss I'd say " oh get on with it , I've done it Twice, without ANY pain relief and it didn't hurt that much! :D " Do you think that would help?

  • Hello Everyone - Wow Protogenia - heating on 17?? Mine is on 25 and I am still freezing:o Our house is quite well insulated but this cold snap is the worst I can remember for ages - My heating bills aren't too bad though - about £20 a month for both gas and electricty and I just had a bill and was £197 in credit.

Marie - glad the birth was okay and mother and child are doing well. I only had OH in with me and he had taken a portable telly because it was the world cup and he didn't want to miss any games - he is now ex OH....

Frogga - I have frequently eaten so much that I am fed up of it - in fact I feel a bit like that now - I was in MR T's before (bought way too much food - the cupboards are bursting) and bought this little (feeds 2) panettone pudding thing - I got home and just couldn't resist it with some custard and ate the lot and now I feel proper sick - it was so rich and heavy and I had just had a big bowl of noodles before it:o :o:o - Oh well I won't be having any tea I don't think..... DD2 is in the kitchen at the moment making a gingerbread house and there is icing everywhere - I will have to go and clean it up in a minute. I can't sit down and read or watch TV unless the kitchen is spotless and it gets me really bothered when it is a mess so I am staying out of the way until she is finished.

I still need to get 2 presents but am rapidly thinking that I might just shove some cash in a card for them both as they are so hard to buy for (teenage boys).

    So today I have had:
breakfast - egg nog latte from Starbucks
lunch - hm chicken noodles and Tescos panettone pudding and custard, three quality street toffees.
drinks - glass of apple juice, 2 cups of tea (no sugar - I hate it with sugar in), glass water.

I went to the gym yesterday and everyone said I looked much slimmer and that is never good for me because I always become complacent so I am going to make an effort for the next couple of days to just eat sensibly again.

hope you are all okay and not too cold.

    Hope you are all okay
    Jane

Evening ladies, Frogga I've often eaten so much that I'm bored with eating!Well done JulieJim!!I've not been too bad today, egg on toast for brekkie, home made muffin at break, brie and cranberry buttie for lunch and just had a leek and cheese tart with SW wedges and broad beans followed by half a banana with a bit of custard. :) I'll have a glass or two of wine tonight as I'm present wrapping but not a lot as I'm going to go and do my food shopping at about 5am :(hopefully Tesco's will be reasonably quiet!See you tomorrow ladies:)
