Morning all!
Yesterday was upsetting. I went for my fitness test at the gym. If I go by BMI I'm classified as overweight (27.1), however they calculated body fat mass and I am 37% fat, putting me in the obese category. Even worse, I found the results from last time I had the same test 2 years ago, and I was 25.5% fat. I should aim to be between 21-25% fat. It made me realise that that little cake, that knob of butter, drizzle of oil have all added up over the past 2 years and really affected me. Its made me realise that I HAVE to do something about this, however I need to stop thinking about going on a diet and just having a massive adjustment in the way I live my life, or I will forever be yo-yo dieting, and each time I will just get bigger and bigger.
We did go out last night for dinner, however we all shared a platter of dips that came with wholemeal pitta and crudites. For mains I had the starter of chicken livers with a side salad (I LOVE chicken livers). A mate and I shared a cheese board, which was tiny. I had one glass of white wine and the rest of my drinks were gin and slims.
I did make my chocolate truffles and tasted 2. I've made rum ones, which are covered in gold edible glitter, ginger ones, dipped in melted chocolate and topped with a slice of stem ginger and finally plain ones rolled in cocoa powder.0 -
Hello all,
Frogga...hope that the shopping wasn't too traumatic!
Mrs MC...always get lots of Dutch cheese, not sure what else, hopefully nothing in the chocolate line, probably not as neither of them eat sweet stuff so they won't think of that...they have an estate car so there will be plenty of space so will see what turns up!
I don't mind driving on the continent...anything is better than sitting with OH, he never drives when I am in the car, as I am a terrible passenger.
Hope that you manage to get all your stuff into your car, you have been so busy shopping! I'm afraid that I do the same with my 'children' on the food front..get told off as they are quite capable of looking after themselves thank you...then hear the moans that there is NOTHING to eat in this house...DD2 will be here until after her baby is born in February so will be keeping my mouth as firmly shut as possible!
Have had a small serving of porridge this morning, a clementine and coffee, will have some soup later on and steak, roast potatoes and carrots/parsnip mash...or might roast them, saw Nigella roasting parsnips with maple syrup last night..might try depending on energy levels!
Sun seems to be trying to come out, although it is very cold, but if its bright its not as bad.
Safe journey, Mrs MC
Hope that everybody has a good day

Afternoon everyone
Well i have done it .. ..i have just about finished all my jobs for today -just needed to get my lazy bum started then i was ok:j
Have managed to :-- get the loaf of bread done
- vaccum n tidy the downstairs
- scrubbed the kitchen to within an inch of its life
- made a casserole for hubbies dinner when he gets in
- cleaned the bathroom
- lugged all the hampers into the living room -will get told off by hubby for that one -for carrying heavy stuff
- made sure there is no washing to do
- packed my suitcase
Will pack the sandwiches etc last thing tonight... and i think thats me done ... so im going to have a long hot soak later :T
By xmasme
This is the load hubby has to get into the car..:o even i can see we are going to have problems now..as there are 8 crates of beer, 3 bix boxes with mums chafin dishes in and our clothes
Think i may go and sit up in the loft when hubby starts shifting it all :rotfl: i think we could have done with borrowing the huge truck hubby has at work
Meanmarie.... cheese is one of the things im not keen on out here, most of it seems to be that mild rubbery stuff -eughhhhhh... so i will be bringing back some super strong cheddar, plus lancashire, cheshire etc for hubby...
I think i must be one of the few people i know who hates driving... i haven't even taken my BFG test out here yet.... i have found enough shops to walk to -thats my excuse and im sticking to it.... im not the best passenger i guess.... i try to break for who ever is driving :rotfl: .... i very rarely drive when hubby is about even in the UK... although i will drive so he can have a drink over xmas/new year.. im not much of a drinker anyway....
DD2 will probably love being spoilt -she had better make the most of it before the little one is born...
I have to say as batty as my mum can drive you - i would rather her be like that than like my hubbies side of the family... i usually end up going shopping and cooking when we visit..as its the only way we are going to get fed -unless we want takeaways  ..
Hubby reckons im just like mum anyway... and the thing is "i know its true" :rotfl: ....
Morning JoeyEmma ... don't get upset about that reading... you are heading in the right direction, and every little bit will help. So don't let it get you down
I have dieted on and off since i was about 14.. heading for 22 years now and i lose some, put it back on -with some extra..and so it goes...
This time , like you i am seeing it as a lifestyle change and its working.. if i fancy a bit of something nice then i have it.. but on the whole i just try and make more sensible choices... it takes the pressure off too - not thinking "ok i have had a choc now -may as well eat the rest"....
The festivities will soon be over with for another year and we can all start the new year with extra determination.. we will all get there... and just think how much slimmer we can all be in time for the summer :j
well ladies i am going to get off and have an hour vegging out before hubby comes home and the fun and games start with the packing :rotfl:
Will probably get on again a bit later, but if not ..don't worry if i disappear for a couple of days... i will be back -and thats a threat :rotfl:
keep up the work folks, and don't forget to try and find a few minutes for yourselves amid all the christmas preperations-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Thankyou ladies
Hubby has just managed to "pack" the car  ...and we have about enough room for him to take the clothes he will be wearing in the morning..and perhaps a couple of pairs of boxers could be wedged in the glove box :rotfl:
I will learn -one day - that we have a renault megane and not a stretch limo
Now frogga , im only trying to save you from yourself by not sending you one...as i have crammed silly amounts of goodies into them..will be glad when i have given them all out.... they were starting to bug me... still they are out of the way now :T ...
Im off for a bath in a minute..gonna have a long hot soak as my mum has a shower but no bath  and i hate showers - so im gonna make the most of my last bath for 2 weeks
Oh - hope the shoping went ok
talk to you later folks-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Frogga - hope you and yours are well x
Today I had 3 yorkshires with my veggie only dinner:eek: i feel that this is allowed as I didn't eat any lamb:whistle:
Our first born has left home todayso no doubt I will spend all tonight and tomorrow worrying about how he is coping - whilst he is probably having a whale of a time!
B - porridge
L - veggies, roasters and 3 yorkies:eek:
D - poached eggs on toast
I am wondering if I am having enough proteinas I have had some low blood sugar levels and feel hungry/shaky a lot - anyone think this is the reason?
hope you are all having a good weekend
TTFN xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
MrsMc- Safe journey! Some fab baskets there as well!
I am currently been driven mad by Tesco online. I've got my whole order done, and when I click on checkout, it won't go.
Breadmaker is due to be delivered tomorrow, but I'm back in work so will miss the delivery. Grhhh... how annoying! I have got some low fat things to go with my bread, such as cottage cheese etc, instead of big lumps of butter!
My truffles are delish, I can't stop picking at them. I've had 3 today!
B- Porridge, skimmed milk and water
L- Japanese noodle packet, with sliced chicken, spring onion and peas.
T- Pilau rice with peas, corn and chicken. It tastes so much nicer when made with ghee. Oh well, I just need to get used to not having it!
Snacks- 2 clementines, 3 chocolate truffles. I might have a weight watchers rice pudding as well later on0
