  • It's been a while, but finally managed to convince myself to get posting again because it's an awful lot easier with you all on side then trying to do this weightloss saga solo!

The last few weeks have been fine food wise - although the last week i haven't eaten anywhere near enough but that tends to be the case when the cold kicks in, my appetite goes into hibernation which isn't helping with weightloss sadly.

I hope you're all doing well, will have a ready through the past few weeks posts that i've missed and hope to see lots of confidence flowing and weight flying off!

    Pigpen- That sounds awful!

HelsBells Welcome back! I'm a newbie who has suddenly become addicted to this thread!

Ended up changing lunch from what I had planned as I didn't have any pitta in the house. I had stir fried broccolli and buckwheat noodles.I'd had the noodles in the cupboard for ages and they turned out to be a bit slimy.

I also managed to do a spin class (second in a week!)- go me!!

    Hello folks,

Sorry I haven't been around for a while. I did try to drop in last weekend, I thanked loads of posts, and then when I tried to make a post myself, everything collapsed!

As you can see from my signature, I have not been doing very well lately weight-loss-wise...nibbling too much in between meals and not exercising enough are the main reasons. Must get back into the swing of things again. Lately I seem to be rushing around like a blue a***d fly, and not getting that much done except putting weight on...aaargh !

Still, college and work have now finished until w/c 7/01/2008. Next week though we have College Development Day all day Monday (Challenging behaviour 9-12; Swedish head, neck & shoulder massage 1:30 to 2pm (lovely!), followed up by a workshop on "The Power of PowerPoint"!) Should be a fun-packed day!

Tuesday is College Christmas Lunch, may have to go in and "work" in the morning, not sure. Then Thursday is our Centre Christmas Lunch.....oh well...it's only once a year.....!

Had a job interview on Tuesday....didn't get it, apparently I didn't sell myself enough during the interview. When I think of it, that was the first formal interval (two interviewers) since 1983...no wonder I was a bit rusty! Still I had a good time (an all-day selection day), and even managed to pop out to Habitat for a rummage (didn't get anything)!

Must get to bed. I have decided I don't tend to loose weight if I go to bed after midnight...I am sure I saw an article about this recently.

So I am back on the wagon, having at last caught it up again, lets hope I can stay on for a reasonable time this time!

Plumber is coming tomorrow...hopefully he can mend my washing machine, it broke down last Saturday, and I have been hand-washing our clothes since....my poor hands! Otherwise we will be trawling the inter-web for an new machine .... this one is over 5 years old. I do tend to go through machines though, doing at least 6 or 7 washes a week fairly k****ers them, and the water is quite hard here. Mind you, my first (2nd hand) automatic lasted ages...I'm sure they don't make them to last these days!

And so to bed....night, night all....;)

  • Hello everyone - not had much time at the computer as DD1 has been monopolising it for the last few days as she has been preparing a presentation to give at her interview for Liverpool University today. I don't know who has been more stressed about it - her or me. I went with her today and they asked me to go into the interview with her, which I think got on her nerves a bit, but she did well and the upshot was that they offered her a place, conditional on getting AAB at A level, to do medicine. She is really pleased and so am I!

I am still carrying on with my no-diet diet and seem to be doing okay with it. Today I have had:
Breakfast - sugar free Alpen and skimmed milk
lunch - french stick (with all the middle pulled out) filled with lettuce and cottage cheese
dinner - cold beef salad with coleslaw and dry french bread

drinks - cups of tea and water

I have had a weird two weeks with TOTM - I have problems with TOTM and had a hysteroscopy and D&C about 10 months ago, which showed fibroids and hormonal imbalance, and since then things haven't been too bad, but this month I have been on, but only a little tiny bit, for two weeks until today when I just flooded everywhere. Earlier this evening I was so alarmed at the loss that I rang NHS direct and they got a doctor to ring me back. He said that it is not uncommon for that to happen when hormones are out of whack, but suggested that I go and see my gynae specialist next week to see about getting a Mirena coil. That is another reason I need to lose weight, and, unusually for me, the worry about it didn't make me go and eat loads so maybe this no-diet diet is working.

I have started getting a bit of Christmas food in which is a change for me as usually I just eat it as soon as I get it, but this time I have two tubs of Terrys orange segment thingies, a chocolate pudding, a sticky toffee pudding and a large tin of Cadburys biscuits all untouched!

Well, I will go and read through the last couple of days of the thread - hope you are all well.

    Welcome back Keiss and Hels_bells:santa2:

Grandma is a bit better today (managing to tell everyone off so we know she must be feeling better :rotfl: ) so everyone is a bit calmer today. I haven't been in to see her as I don't want to make things worse by giving her my cold. Mucking out took me absolutley ages today cos I just couldn't be bothered. Walked back home across the fields as they were less slippy than the roads. Going to have to get it done relitivly early tomorrow as sis wants to get to town to do christmas shopping by 1 at the lastest.

Anyhoo, food wise today I have been pretty good. Weetabix for brekkie. Small portion of leftover sausage caserole for lunch, and jp with ham and cheese salad bits for tea. Snacks have been a few ginger nuts. Oh and a little bakewell tart for pudding. Far too easy to forget about those puddings :o
    I'm through accepting limits
    'Cuz someone says they're so
    Some things I cannot change
But till I try, I'll never know!
