I'm so sorry, newlywed. I hope you can sort out the passport issues quickly if that's what you need to do. x

Frogga.. That was just so lovely of Tadpole2 to give so readily like that.. a real credit to you!! Mad question.. but would it be possible for you to arrange for Robbie to go with them when they use the tickets?? As a special surprise for being so wonderful?

I've hidden the scales.. They are being mean to me!! I am apparently 3lb heavier than when I started here. TOTALLY lost any teeny bit of motivation that I had to start with.. AF is late.. which NEVER happens.. so I'm simply trying not to think about that.. but it is making me need a beer when I do think about it! lol

I 'need' a dress for a family party this month and everything I get makes me look like a heifer in a duvet cover.. I'm thinking 'go in a tent and accessorise'.. because it HAS to be easier than getting 10 tonne me in anything that looks presentable!!

Hence I've not been posting here.. I have lurked though!!

Thanks guys. Found out can fly with some airlines with just photo driving license.

Now debating whether to go. Will cost about £100 just for flight, one night b&b and shared car hire. Don't have that money really, let alone food etc, travel to airport etc. Just feeling stressed over the whole thing really. Feeling bad about having to weigh up the money issue too. :o

    ((( hugs))) newlywed.

I'd go with what I felt was right.. eg when my gran died I didn't 'need' to go see her in horpital knowing I would never see her again.. I was ok letting her go because I knew she knew how I felt towards her and that was enoguh. I felt I had to go to the funeral because I needed to do that for myself.. very selfish I know.. also DS1 wanted to go so I couldn't let him go on his own. I also had to take DD5 who was only 3 weeks old.

Do you feel you need to go? If so.. sod the money.. it is only money after all.. there are some things you have to do with it and spend it on.. a new washing machine, a part for the car, being at the funeral of someone you love very much.. these are necessaries.

I'll be thinking of you whatever you decide.

Honestly, I'd been planning to go over to see her the last 2 years and with one thing and another (including getting married, starting a DMP etc) I've not made it. So it feels like too little too late in any case :(

Newlywed ~ I'm sure you will make the right decision. My Gran would have been LIVID if I had "wasted" that much money on her ( I know thats what she would have said!) However my other Nan would have been LIVID if I hadn't  Only YOU know what your Granny would have wanted and I know you'll make the right choice.

If it's just the money and you really want to go pm me ( I've done o/t this month and I don't mind chippin in xx)

My Gran was OS and definitely MS on lots of things. When we were younger, she had a money limit for each of us and we had to "decide" what present we would like and then she would decide if she thought it was appropriate/worth it ;)

We used to spend all day together when she came over going round second hand shops and umpteen second hand bookshops and she used to treat me to a drink and cake in my favourite cafe (sadly no longer there).

She used to make us toys, knitted ones, crochet ones, hand made teddies with all the joints etc. It's where I get most of my craftyness from :)

I used to knit jumpers and save them for when she came over as she'd offer to sew them up for me :o She hasn't been over here for a long while due to health. She hasn't been well recently.

She told my uncle she didn't want a big fuss made about the funeral. :o

We lost my Granny two years ago in February. She was a real good laugh, and VEry naughty, IYKWIM?;)

    At her funeral we all wore red, she'd have LOVED that! I wrote her a letter after she died and My Mum asked me to read it out loud at the funeral. I've written it here if any of you want to read it now;

    Dear Gran,

Thought I'd drop you a line, just a quick word to say
we miss you like mad, now that you've gone away.
Each time I phone you, it's the same old chat
what you been up to then? Oh you know this and that
and now it seems, when I've something to say
you're not there to hear it, as you've gone away.

Perhaps like they say, you're a star in the sky
looking down on us from somewhere up high
I just don't know, yet to me it seems
You'll make youself at home, inside our dreams.

Wherever you are, hope it's a happy place
hope Grandad's on your arm, and there's a smile on your face
Wherever you've gone, there's nothing to fear
for us left behind just wish you were here.

H and R send their love, look out for them from your seat up above
well better go Gran, safe journey, take care
    and wherever you've gone
just give us three rings when you get there x

Think she'd have liked that ;) Hope you don't mind me sharing it with ya x
