I made an apple crumble last night and tbh I think cos I know there's something 'nice' to eat later on, I haven't had anything sweet all day long. We went to John Lewis and normally I'd treat myself to a cake and coffee as we only go every couple of months but today, I though, no I'm having crumble later, so I didn't. Maybe that's the key? If I deprive myself of all 'nice' food I binge on it. Hmmm, don't know but it's a fun experiment :D

i do think you are right, i made the most lovely fresh fruit crumble, i was going to try and resist but i would have been obsessing about it all night so i had some! just not as much as i would have normally have, i really do think portion contro; is the key for me!! that, and not eating between meals.

have just done this weeks meal plan, loads of veg, and smaller portions i am aiming for!

  • Thanks for your kind words guys - I got through the day without overeating and was really pleased because my friend had made a roast dinner for tea and I didn't even have one small potato - just carrot and swede, cauliflower and brocolli and roast pork with no crackling. I had fresh fruit salad afterwards and just a cup of decaff coffee. I am going to make my self a mug of hot skimmed milk now as I find that it helps me sleep.

Weighed myself today and will use that as my starting weight - 22st 2lbs:o . I don't know whether or not to weigh every week because I know I will get disheartened if I haven't lost so I might just weigh monthly.

I want to make bolognaise with some Be Good To Yourself mince tomorrow but I think I will do that thing that someone mentioned earlier of having shredded boiled white cabbage instead of pasta.

    Anyway goodnight all!

Blimey odds you were up early!

Morning all , hope you all have a good day today, I've done my healthy lunch to take to work! I wish I could "only have a little bit" like you guys, I think that's definitly the way to go but I just cant! Once I have one I literally CANT stop. It's like a adiction, so I'm better off not having anything at all

Anyway , have a good one everyone , speak later xx:T

    Food:
    Breakfast:Porridge and orrange juice
    Snack:1 Apple
    Lunch: 1 cup a soup
    Snack:1 yoghurt
Tea:Chicken pasta bake with passata and herbs
    Evening Snack:Chicken/pork Sandwhich

Exercise: school pick up (dependant on weather) 3 mile walk
    10 minutes minimum on stepper
    10 minutes minimum yoga

I have realised that im having hunger pangs around 7pm and then eating things that arent good for me, saturday i had 2 chicken mayo sandwhiches and yesterday i joined dh in some pizza so ive scheduled in a snack in the hope thatitll solve that. i eat tea with the kids at 4.30 so its no wonder im hungry later but something little should do it. I was naughty this morning and jumped on the scales and theyre saying 1lb lighter again so if i can keep that off till sunday ill be pleased.

Jane well done on eating well despite temptations but try not to deprive yourself too much thats where most people fall off is they fancy a treat, deny them selves then think oh heck whats the point.good luck in dropping your weight in a year im aiming to lose 6 stone by next christmas if i can do that ill be over the moon, try to set yourself shorter targets, my first is to be no more than 14st13lb by dec 23rd this year, and hopefully a better dress size, thats keeping me focused at the moment. anyway good luck and i hope you dont have any more attacks

I agree with you about portion control, its better to have a little portion than to feel deprived about not being able to eat it.Thats how I've lost weight I think. I always have the small loaves of wholemeal or seeded bread for toast and sarnies and also have about a third of the cereal that I used to have. I have whatever Dh is eating just have less of it and also limit the spuds but make up for it with more veggies.
I also have yoghurts for pud most of the time. Slimming World do a weetabix cake that is low cal and tastes a bit like bread pudd, my DH loves it so sometimes I have a slice of that with a cuppa:D As a treat I have 1 digestive with my low cal hot choc most nights too.

    good luck everyone today !;)

    Good morning

    Came through the weekend ok!
Printed out my goals for this week and putting it in the kitchen where I can see it. Even managed to buy myself some clothes which I usually hate doing but knowing that I am working hard to reduce this flab.
I have also been to see my GP last week and he has referred me to the local obesity clinic where there are councellors on hand. (I know a lot of my overeating is emotional)

Breakfast: Porridge with maple syrup and banana
lunch: tinned salmon with salad, hm soup
tea: probably chicken casserole in slowcooker, lots of root vege
    LF yoghurt

snacks: fruit, dried apricots or some oatcakes
    fluid: at least 2 litres

Have a great day everyone. You can do it.....

Great recipe for a low cal soup:

    Tomato & Lentil soup

    1 tsp of olive oil
    60 g. of onion, chopped

    1 clove of garlic
    90 g. of carrot
60 g. of dried red lentils
    1 pinch of oregano
    1 pinch of dried basil
    1/2 tin of tomatoes (400g)
    1/2 pint of vegetable stock

Heat the oil in a large non-stick plan and add the onion and garlic. Cook until the onion is golden, then add the diced carrot. Cover and cook over a gentle heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the lentils, herbs, tomato and stock and bring to the boil. Simmer for 25 minutes or until the lentils are tender.
Blend the soup either in a blender or using a hand-held immersion blender before serving.

Even my fussy OH loves this so now I batch cook it and freeze in portions ready for lunches :)
