Hi, Can i have a member number please?

I am a member of the No More Pies Club and Lose Weight thread but am not any any specific type of plan - just healthy eating and home cooking ! :)

I am also one who ends up obsessed with having to count points and/or calories etc :o so have opted to eat more healthily rather than forbidding specific foods.

Thanks for PM Frogga....haven't been good over last couple of weeks...haven't weighed myself in a while, but know that it wouldn't be good if I did!

\so far to-day I have been reasonably good....muesli for breakfast, ham salad sandwich for lunch and dinner will be roast chicken, green beans and steamed potatoes...challenge there will be avoiding the butter which I normally use in copious amounts. Further problem to-day is that I have made two weetabix cakes, one large bakewell tart, a victoria sponge...have also stewed 3 or 4 k of apples to freeze, but may end up using some of them for a tart...pastry is already made.

    Good luck to all

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :hello: Hello!

Pleased to see this thread, thank you frogga for alerting me to it! :T

Afraid I have been doing some old style comfort eating! :o too much old style home baking! 2 weetabix loaves, 2 loaves banana bread (1 with choc chips in) some hm bread and a batch of the tightwad gazettes breadcrumb cookies which are really yummy, I did share them though with dh;) . Good news is puppy is fully vaccinated and I have been walking her daily now around our nearby park so hopefully wil lose some weight that way. The puppy is in love with a huge german shepherd that seems to be very protective of her and they run around the park and wear each other out!

Our favourite low fat recipe is chilli tomato and tuna pasta. Basically saute an onion and a crushed garlic clove in a little olive oil (could use the spray version) add a tin of chopped tomatoes, some tomato puree and a drop of tobasco sauce (or small amount of chilli powder to taste). When the sauce has thickened add a drained tin of tuna, heat through and serve over cooked whole meal pasta.

Kyle - I can't believe it is only 13 days til you go to orlando!

  • Hi - thanks for the PM Frogga! I think that this thread is a great idea. Since DD2 was born 10 years ago I have been steadily getting fatter and fatter but since exDH traded me in for a younger blonder model 5 years ago I have really ballooned - mainly through comfort eating and bingeing. I need to lose weight because I have a heart condition which requires a catheter ablation procedure to correct it and they won't do it unless I lose 8 stone:eek: and if I am brutally honest I probably need to lose more than that.

I have joined every slimming club going and think that the only way I am going to shift this weight is by eating sensibly and not getting locked into any particular programme. I tend to become obsessed with the diet and if I have even a tiny slip up I think I have blown it and eat for Britain. Anyway today is day one and I have had:

breakfast: 4 ryvitas with 2 low fat cheese slices and a cup of tea
lunch: hm coleslaw and cold roast leg of pork
dinner:not had it yet but am planning to have stir fry veg with some
pork stirred in with a little bit of hoi sin sauce.
supper:cup of hot skimmed milk with a little bit of horlicks stirred into it.
Snacks: chopped up fresh pineapple; an apple; Activia yoghurt.
The coleslaw is really easy to make and is VERY low fat and low calorie - just shred some (about half) a white cabbage and mix with 2 grated carrots and a finely chopped red onion. Season well with salt and pepper and then add about half a small jar of Hellmann's extra light mayonnaise and 2 tbs of Heinz extra light salad cream. The total calories is about 150 but you get the most enormous bowlful which I put in lock and lock containers in the fridge. It keeps for about 2 days. I eat it as a main course on its own with just a little cold meat or cheese and its fab - you can get fed up with it though so I only make it every now and then.

    Hi folks

Just finished my dinner - im 1 hour in front of you guys dont forget ;) ....
Had savoury meat pie.... should be made in a roll, but a pie with just a crust on top is a better option:T ...had it with 2 new potatoes, HM mushies, carrots and a bit of gravy... have a very happy tummy now:D

    hello recovering spendaholic....

I want to lose about 8 stones too...and thats not including what i have allready lost :D and i haven't had kids :rotfl: ... and if i dont get this weight off , im never likely too either !!!! determined to get my eating issues in check before i have children and pass it on.

Catznine.....i love banana bread.... not something im brave enough to have in the house yet!!!
I have figured that as long as i can get out of the supermarket without any "goodies" im safe.... the nearest shop is about 3 miles away.... and im NEVER gonna want something that badly that i will walk and fetch it :rotfl:
although hubby has his walnut icecream with maple syrup, and it really doesn't bother me when he sits eating it...he did offer not to have any, but i find that if i feel he is going without for my benefit... i end up having stuff just so hubby does:confused: - what a strange world us "dieters" live in :D

Well i hope everyone has got through today ok.... and ready for a new day
