I am sorry, have just read through but not really absorbed much into my brain. So tired. When I go to my second job everyone stops for a tea break at 3pm but I just dont have time and I sometimes wonder if everyone thinks I am miserable or standoffish! Today I did stop and was glad for the 10 minute break.

Both paid stuff done, awful drive home in the fog but I went back out again to gym class, Christmas tree is up, casserole done in slow cooker for tea (lots of veg and potato and as little meat as I could get away with).

Need a bit of fruit and veg tomorrow. Must make a list.

I'm sure they don't think you are Yorkshire. Works work isn't it, surely most people just want to get it done and go home instead of standing around gabbing?

Baileysbabe, I was glad you mentioned it on your post yesterday as since changing my name I'd kind of forgotten it :( It was only after you mentioned it that I remembered I had a word doc that I copied and pasted on every day that reminded me!

I've just been back to edit my list and just about everything has been done, except children's HWB's which I will do nearer bedtime. My friend had scones, jam and cream for us to enjoy when visiting earlier :)

Tonight's dinner is bits and pieces from the fridge, otherwise known as left overs which haven't been enough to justify freezing. This was perfect planning as dd has asked instead of dinner tonight can she have some of the HM pizza from the fridge, hee hee she gets what she wants, we don't waste food and we stick to the meal plan. I have been honest and told what the plan for tonight was, which made her smile.

DNMS that sounds just the perfect meal to me, quick and easy to make and delicious to eat. My lunch today was creamy mustard mushrooms on toast, which meets all the above criteria.

  • Hi all

Work this morning was awful, starting to think my line manager (who I share an office with and work very closely with) is deliberately trying to undermine my confidence and make me feel stupid. Thank goodness it's Friday tomorrow.

DH has been given a carrier bag of huge carrots, its a long story. Might not taste very nice but thinking they would be good for soup. HM chilli and jackets for tea tonight, keeping on track with the meal plan.

Have just sat down, too tired to do much more. Chimney swept this morning so we have lit the fire. Going to get my pjs on and make a list for tomorrow.

I went back to work today, still not feeling 100% but couldn't justify taking any longer off as we are really busy at the moment with Xmas bumper issues. I stuck to soup for breakfast and lunch supplemented by some free mince pies but did go to the chip shop for dinner tonight as I didn't fell up to cooking again though we all had battered sausages etc rather than fish so it wasn't too expensive.

I stopped off at the little Mr T (we have one just minutes away at the new house!) to use their cash till and ran in to check the reductions and the same bloke who is ALWAYS there bang on 7.30pm was there before me again. He annoys the hell out of me as he's pretty big and, being a small store, the reduced stuff is in one of the cabinets with a sliding door and once he's there there's no way to get past him and he just stands and throws it all into his basket. I'm thinking he must own a juicer as nobody could eat the amounts of soft fruit he buys (though I'd quite like just one pack) once my contract ends I swear I am going to go and stand outside the store until I see his van pull up and then run in ahead of him

I've not heard anything more from the man in North Yorkshire about his item even though he has already paid

    Morning all,
Well, you'd have laughed at us on our city centre trip yesterday. Car parking was £8.....can't improve on that as no late buses & the train is more expensive. But......
*We used my free coffee & cake voucher in John Lewis. Shared the cake so paid only for 1 coffee.
*Free net of chocolate coins from WHS (O2 Priorities).
*Free malteaser chocolate reindeer from Boots (also O2 Priorities).
*Bought 3 last Christmas gifts using vouchers from ipsos surveys.
*Found 90p in my coat pocket.
    *Nice YS sandwiches for tea.
*Went to concert afterwards. Found we had been upgraded to seats which should have cost £5.50 more.
So it was quite a good visit, apart from me not being able to walk around very fast at the moment.
Today.....busy list planned. Will be cleaning downstairs with minmal products & washable cloths, baking a birthday cake for Mum, prepping birthday meal to take down with us tomorrow, baking apple & ginger muffins, wrapping those last 3 gifts, finalising next week's meal plans & writing shopping list. Dinner will be kedgeree to use a piece of smoked fish & the last portion of curry sauce I batch-cooked a while back. Might do a couple of competitions if I get time & will be topping up the worm composter with scraps to keep them going over winter.
Have a good day, fellow frugalistas,
    F xx

  • Morning guys :) fvd did you see recently there was an article in the news that people were trying to get to the reduced items in a sm and a fight broke out!

Mrs F as super organised as ever!

Ally hope work is being kind

Day to myself today. Going to think real hard about what I want to do for myself rather than doing chores all day! However there are some chores to do!

Stolen Foxgloves idea to make apple and ginger muffins as have a couple of apples that need using and we have no sweetnthings left in the house.

Make a batch of soup to use up veg in fridge

Mince and bacon out of freezer to make spag for tonight

Sort out energy deal. Absolute priority today!

Do need to do some hw, will try to be super speedy and tidy afterwards!

Going to get dressed in a minute and nip to town to get the Xmas gifts I still need to get. Still don't know what to get my bff's 18 yo ds.... Going to make a list so I can get it all at once. Only going to outskirts of town so hopefully not too much driving hassle!

    Some form of exercise.

OK that's my lot I think.

At the risk of becoming a broken record I am loving the "feed yourself for a £1 a day" group on fb. Really has inspired me to be more creative and use what's in/keep costs down. I did my fortnightly shop last week and spent £24. Will need to top up milk today, and get a bag of satsumas. Have been having delicious meals just using what's in and sending oh to work with decent lunches. Totally recommend it if you're so inclined! Anyway enough of my ramblings! Happy Friday:)

foxgloves - very MSE. Well done!

    Managed to spend most of last night wrapping and sorting Xmas presents, so I now know what I need to buy, only a few small things. My list for today;

    - Check bank and YNAB
    - Shop around for a cheap red tie (wedding tomorrow)
    - Bring lunch into work
    - Phone currys to make a payment on my laptop
    - Put water in my car window skoosher things.
    - Charge phone at work

    That should do me.

    Have a nice day everyone.
