Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Determined Hugs to DgD so much going around.

FVD I would love to see his face if you did get there first one day and clear him out :)

La E I really feel for you. It's so hard when everyone tells you that you should have put money by, when you are thinking, ok? And how many meals should I have skipped to do that, bills I didn't pay etc. Some people have no concept of when what you have literally puts food on the table and that's it!

Ally Great to see you :)

  • Evening all. First chance to get one today. Health vibes coming to those feeling poorly. This mild weather is lovely (saving on those heating bills but not doing much for germ kill )

    Massively busy day today:

Emptied girls room of everything but beds ready for plasterer this week. Took opportunity to sort 3 toy boxes out and various other tubs. Now have 2 bags to sell/CS and lots of rubbish discarded and a place for everything :D
DH striped last of wallpaper and took off some wood and skirting, just 2 more walls of skirting to do before he arrives. Also removed radiator. Will get a new one in the new year, hopefully it won't be too cold before then.
    Changed beds
    Girls went swimming
I posted parcel to relative wth presents from 3 of us in to save costs. Included cards too so didn't have to pay for a stamp for them too ;)
Posted the 6 cards I needed to 2nd class. Rest will go by hand or via someone else
Need to message a couple of people about delivering presents
Put some fleabay stuff back in loft, will leave it now until Jan and need the space
Bought down the gifts I'd stashed up there
    Will wrap presents tonight
Got DD to write family cards from her and her sister
Smalls had left overs for tea, DH and I are having a concoction ;)
Went to mr s armed with list. Got some ys bread items to go with our slow roasted lamb I'm cooking tomorrow for DD birthday :D used DH discount and various coupons :D
Need to make DD a cake at some point
Would also like to do some knitting, will see how I feel after tea.

Hope everyone is staying dry. PF.

Nope, it's absolute bl**dy murder....but the money is good. :p

Ha! This made me laugh - I am sooo with you Ally x

Bought a couple of stocking fillers for the boys today but was careful not to spend too much. Had a nice day pottering about at home, a little bit of paid stuff done, spag bol for tea.

Fire lit, will put washing in front of it when we go to bed. I am on taxi duty so have to turn out and pick DS1 up but dont mind. I told him no later than midnight.

Horrible feeling I am getting cold so I am taking echinacea - fingers crossed it works.

Morning guys. Not much going on for us today as madam woke up last night about 10 being sick. She seems well enough now but she has had a little bit of an upset stomach so a day at home I think. Will mean a nsd :)

Lots of crafts, jigsaw puzzles, books and a film later on.

Make jam tarts (jam needs using up!) and apple & ginger muffins

Dinner is going to be hm nachos

Check meal plan for tomorrow and get something out of freezer.

Made a list of Xmas activites for 12 days of Xmas (we do a different xmas activity each day) Will be minimal spends :)

Replied to ds who has invited with to his gf's birthday meal to say if it's a meal at someone's house we'd love to come but if it's a meal put we will need to pass...

That's all. Have a lovely days guys x

  • Hi all

Hope everyone who is poorly recovers.

I have spent days working on farm and doing stuff for various family members different businesses. It is never ending.

Raced around lid/ as I do not normally have access to one and spent 128. Considering no booze it is quite a shocking amount.

Off out now to do cow stuff then ideally some cleaning required as the place is very grubby.

  • Morning all. Happy Sunday :waves: might follow suit on jam tarts as DD as just requested a 'jam heart' as she calls them for breakfast :rotfl:

Busy Sunday (isn't everyday) 10 for lunch so doing davinas slow Cooked down Moroccan lamb with various (ys) bread will go in oven when DD birthday cake is done in about 10 minutes, just made a small chic one from a GF recipe I found this morning. Used raw cacao powder from use up box instead of cocoa and some (marginally) OOD yogurt  will decorate with chocolate buttons
Didn't wrap any presents last night so will do tonight instead
Need to make list of food needed between now and end Dec so I'm not too-into and fro-big as that's when it get expensive
Need to get ready for school for one last week
Make some teacher gifts from chocolate blocks, forgot white choclate for piping yesterday but found some in fridge from when I made them in summer (different teachers so ok there ;))
Out for breakfast but planned spends
Ask MIL for money she owes for gift when she's round later
Hand deliver some more cards, write the last few

Right must get on, although this cake won't cook for toffee, still wobbly. Give it another 10 and see how we get on. Enjoy your day folks. PF.
  • Hope the cake turns out OK PF. Woke up feeling down in the dumps, mainly because today is Sunday which means work tomorrow. I cant change my job at the moment but I cant spend every Sunday feeling down because its the last day of the weekend. I need to work on this.

Very mild here again and it's not quite as dull and dingy as the last few days. Might even get some washing out. Going to potter gently today, make some lists and plans for the week. Have taken some chicken thighs out of the freezer for tea so will get those in the sc before we take DS2 to footie. The dog needs a walk and I want to ring my Mum for a natter. That doesnt sound a bad day does it? Not going to spend a penny.

    Morning all,
Pf I hope you all have a lovely day, sounds like you will :)

Today's a day at home for us so will try to get a few bits done.
    * Ys crumpets for breakfast :)
    * Ys spatchcock chicken taken out of the freezer yesterday for lunch today, will save the bones to do a stock also.
    * Clean kitchen using stardrops
    * Pack suitcase as we are away for a long weekend from Friday with my parents/sis/niece which is our xmas present from my parents
    * Film from stash this afternoon
    * Clean out fridge before mrT delivery arrives
    * Do a meal plan for whilst we are away next weekend as its self catering and want to keep costs & effort to a minimum, last year we made a spag bol & a chicken curry with us which were great to just reheat at the end of busy days
    * Minimum heating on today as we have jumpers/blankets

Hopefully will add more as I go along.

    Have a good day all
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
  • Morning mes amis

PF - have a lovely day! Sounds fab - I want to come round. :rotfl:
Maria - wow! I'm sure you will meal plan it all and make sure you get the most out of that shop. :)

And all this talk of jam tarts... Wish I had some jam in the house now as realised I'm meant to take biscuits/cakes into work tomorrow! :)

I've been getting on with the small things today - finished a 2nd hat from a £1 ball of yarn  Happy with that. Not sure if I'll give it to my sis or just keep it for myself. ;)

Made HM soup - lunches for next week sorted :A

Got something out of the freezer for tonight's tea - venison sausage casserole, maybe on cheapo pancakes

    Leftover takeaway for lunch.

Free dog walk later - will look out a new route for us beforehand.

Used cashback towards a Christmas pressie :T

Found a jacket for £37.50, that was £60 and down to £48 in another shop. Happy with that. OH is going to get it for me for Christmas...which is just my way of justifying it since it is all coming from the same pot :rotfl:

Need to write out the last bits and bobs I need to do this week as it's going to be another busy one with team night out on Tuesday and then going to visit the parentals next weekend.

OH has worked every day for the past 2 weeks plus 3 evenings each week after his 8-4 job - hoping he doesn't burn out and can keep up with it...Will make such a difference when his pay comes in. He's back out in a few hours.

Right...best get off and get the washing out of the machine...It's going in the TD though so not v small things-esque!!

    Crikey, sorry for the essay!
