Very mild here again and it's not quite as dull and dingy as the last few days. Might even get some washing out. Going to potter gently today, make some lists and plans for the week. Have taken some chicken thighs out of the freezer for tea so will get those in the sc before we take DS2 to footie. The dog needs a walk and I want to ring my Mum for a natter. That doesnt sound a bad day does it? Not going to spend a penny.
Yorkshirelass, sorry to hear that you are feeling down, hopefully getting out for a bit of fresh air will help. Are you going to have much of a break at Christmas?Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Sounds like a lovely day Yorkshirelass. I know it is easier said than done but do try to focus on just today and not worry about work tomorrow. One book that really helped me was 'How to Live on 24 Hours a Day". It's a really old book so you can get it free on Project Gutenburg. The main thing about it (for me) is that rather than thinking about your days as ruled by your 9-5 and everything else as just the time around it/periphery/time to wait to go to work tomorrow... You think about your day as 5pm one day to 9am the next morning (or 5pm on Friday to 9am Monday) - concentrate on that as your time (you don't need to think about the 9-5 because that is a given and will always come around) but then you can concentrate on what you want to do with your 'real life'/all your time out of work. Sorry for the pep talk but it really did help me...

No jam tarts here, but dd did make a batch of mince pies yesterday with HM mince meat, she is such a good chef.
Today I need to email my parents a list of present ideas for us (this was requested, not me being cheeky), they will already got a few bits for the children, my Mum if she has found the time will have knitted them a jumper or a cardigan (much treasured by the children and garments often returned when out grown for Grandma to work her magic and enlarge so they can continue wearing)
This evening we are joining friends and family to celebrate the third Sunday in advent as well as working on our advent puzzle throughout the day.
OH & dd are out at martial arts training, so I want to make the most of the next couple of hours and get lots done.
This afternoon me & dd are going to our monthly meetup with friends, crafts, soft play, chatting and lovely free mocha for the adults. Leaving us not much time to get today's list done, I must go and get a wiggle on.

Morning all, it's bright and sunny here today.
My mum is buying us a carvery lunch today and I have pizza in the fridge for tea tonight so that's food sorted for the day.
I do need to buy another set of outdoor lights for one of the bushes as DS and DSGF snaffled one of a matching set for their room. I may just buy a cheaper set and swap with them.
We did the deep clean and decorated the sitting room yesterday and it looks lovely. I used some ribbon to string the tea light holders from the garden from a curtain rail so that didn't cost a penny. We now can't close those curtains of course but we back onto farmland do aren't overlooked. At the opposite end I did the same with a pack of baubles hung from ribbon attached to the curtain rail but further back so we can close those ones. Thank you pinterest :rotfl:
I have a few items ending on eBay today but only one with bids, I'm hoping for a little flurry closer to the end time. I didn't get to photograph anything new yesterday as DH got a bit previous with the tidying and put it all away in th garden store so, if it's still light when we get back, I will have a root around and try to photograph later. I'm finding the eBay money really useful at the moment, I must keep this up.

Yorkshirelass - I too like the sound of La E's book.
I can really sympathize with your Sunday -nearly-Monday feeling. I used to work with a horrendously difficult individual & my stress levels would be buulding as the weekend progressed so were pretty bad by Sunday night.
That's how my 'Sunday hour' started. At around 4pm on Sundays, I'd throw myself into a vigorous hour of preparing for Monday: washer loaded, packed lunch made, clothes put out ready, bag packed, synchronised diaries with mr f to get ultra-organised, then run a hot bubble bath & wash my hair. Given that I had to go to work because I needed the money, I couldn't do anything about that, but I COULD spend that hour getting as organised as possible to make Monday morning go as smoothly as possible. As soon as the Sunday Hour was done, I made sure I concentrated on me-time only. It didn't solve the problem of the horrendous colleague (sadly neither did Management) but as a coping strategy, it helped me x2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (36/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 6.5kg/30kg

Whoop
just back from ys haul. Sadly no turkey yet but managed to get meat for another 6 meals, 18 fromage frais yogurts for madam, 2 x 1pt of semi skimmed, a load of veg and weirdly a pack of breaded carvery ham with a bb date of 21/12 (?) All for ££9.50 all divided up and put in the freezer
Re turkey. I absolutely want to get a ys one. So am thinking of getting a chicken and putting in the freezer and then holding my nerve until I find one, even if it's xmas eve. Need to speak to dd as if she's not on board and we don't get one that is something that could trigger her on Xmas day and see the whole day ruined for everyoneDF as at 30/12/16
