No.88 declaring £750 for March to take my total for the year to £2,500 so far.

It's not as much as I would have wanted to save this month, but I've entered the London to Brighton Bike Ride this year and thought it would be a good idea if I bought a bike to use in the event!

I'm hoping to have more to declare next month. Well done to everyone putting money away - there are some fabulous totals being saved.

Declaring for March - #129 a whopping £922.50, a vast improvement on my intention to save £333.

Well chuffed. I tried a new way of doing things this month, as I thought I was doing a bit too much frittering. I moved everything out of the current account bar what I forecast for bills and brought back across any extra that I needed. What a faff! As you can see from the total this month, I just couldn't be arsed bringing it back across!

I've set a mini-goal to reach the halfway mark of my £4,000 annual goal by 15th April, and looking at my forecast expenses it will be squeaky (thanks to a ton of car expenses (MOT, road tax, new tyres, etc)) but doable.

    Game on!

No savings in March as we had lots of unexpected expenses. I think i need to change my target to £1000 for the year. Feeling pretty pessimistic about the chance of saving anything at all.
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

(Slowlyfading I've updated the easy update form with the below)

Reporting in with my March savings progress. Absolutely abysmal month - renovating a house is expensive and it's seriously making me doubt whether I can achieve my target this year... I'll keep at it!

£100 - Junior Stocks and Shares ISA (for my baby daughter)
£13.79 - March interest gained from TSB and Nationwide high interest current accounts (transferred to S&S ISA)
    £125 - Sharesave Scheme

    Total - £238.79 / 2017 Running Total - £1,920.93

Sorry to hear you are having a tough time Pooh bear and steve.
I have managed another £625 this month split £250 Sharesave and £375 regular saver.

I've got all my financial records into a right mess this month so might need to recreate a bunch of things or start afresh. Anyone use anything other than Excel and YNAB for this? I hate reworking stuff so might just do a fresh start instead.

Thanks Slowly fading for looking after this thread.

Saving is harder than it looks!

Any point in saving with inflation rates so high?
Logical solution would be to take out 0% balance transfer and purchases credit cards?

For weird accounting/YNAB reasons I've already saved £400+ for April so I'm hoping for a much better month. And it's LISA month!! Anyone else waiting for announcements of savings LISAs? I've already transferred £200 into my HtB for the month in anticipation of a switch - although unlikely!

    Happy second quarter everyone :)

Me! Looks like its going to be Nutmeg for the LISA and move my Halifax H2B over eventually. I'll open it up on the 6th with £1 and play it by ear.
