Sign me up for £5000 please
So far I've kept to my basic £50/week but will be looking to increase that soon on the back of an upcoming promotion at work.0 -

80lbs! Blimey - is that total weight loss?:eek:
Chin up on the expenses. If you were not saving it would be worse. That much is for certain.

Its an increase of 12.5% Not inline with market rents in my area but I haven't had an increase in the 7 years I've been here. I'll certainly be asking for him to do those odd jobs around the house rather than doing it myself!
Its 20lbs loss so far, I do wish it was 80lbs though.
It's all the family birthdays at the beginning of the year so it seems to be never ending spending. Its my sisters, DD and fathers next week and then I get March off- thank goodness!2025 Mortgage start £378K 2025 Overpayment £103 Savings Challenge 2025 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**0 -

I read that its psychologically better to countdown to goals than to count up, especially when relating to weight loss. To see the numbers decrease is more powerful than to see them increase. I get paid on the 23rd of the month, so just a few more days left and don't think I'll be spending any money.... (Hopefully I haven't spoken too soon!). I still have a tiny surplus in my current account (by tiny I mean £2.something) but if that remains a surplus, I will have exceeded my monthly target with interest, a couple of refunds, some survey payouts and a little bit leftover from January.
So, all in all, this challenge rocks - I'm a dipper, I always dip into my savings before the end of the month, but that hasn't happened since joining this challenge (and budgeting religiously).
Hope everyone else is feeling as positive! I know it's hard when those curve balls come out of nowhere right at the start of your savings plan, but stay strong, keep coming back here and staying accountable! :-)
