  • Our bedding is washed and on the line (most bizarre being able to do that on 8th Dec!), and all through downstairs has been vacuumed. I have also swept and cleaned the woodburner, had a shower, and unloaded the DW. WM on a 90 degree hot wash. Just going to have a quick cuppa then back down to school for DD Christmas lunch. x

  • Morning all
Hugs and coping vibes to everyone who needs them.
Ended up going out for a meal last night it was a friends birthday lovely time as both their grandchildren were there including the newest one so it was loveoylto have some baby cuddles.
Been wrapping sweets for the top table at school this lunchtime as well as shopping for the soft drinks for tomorrow's school dinner I'm wrapping my work secret Santa now as it's the exchange for that tomorrow. I've made about 60 bags of reindeer food just need to wrap a couple of boxes for it to go in now (end of term treat for two classes) gong to help dd3 make hers for her nursery at the weekend)
Think I've got one more stocking to knit then about 8 to sew together and they'll be ready for labels. Hopefully I'll be able to start on the ironing challenge next week as I want to clear that and catch up with all the housework and wrapping that's left to do.

I'm going to work for a rest in a bit.

It sounds like it's a good thing you saw the doc. Stay warm and drink lots of hot drinks.

Thank you. He says he is feeling about the same today as yesterday: still no energy, and puffed out after bringing me a cup of tea upstairs. He went back to bed for a couple of hours' more sleep this morning. But he has at least ordered (and paid for) presents for his sister and b-i-l.

Mind you, I am much the same: didn't sleep well, woke up with a sore throat at 3 a.m. and haven't been able to get warm all day, so I've spent much of the time wrapped up in a blanket on the sofa, dozing. I've only just started doing some more reading for my assignment, having borrowed 2 useful books from DS2 yesterday, and the LR table is still covered in Christmas cards :(

I managed to cook soup for lunch and tidy up the kitchen afterwards. Tea (barley risotto) is in the SC, smelling delicious :)

    It's that time of year...
  • Hi everyone, I've been a bit AWOL this week in terms of the lists. Managed to whip round downstairs with the vacuum and have a tidy as someone was coming round on Tuesday evening. Have kept on top of the washing for once, although I have one load to get out of the WM in a bit and might try and get the dog bedding done.

Massive to do list in terms of admin, I've got invoices to do, a mortgage application, some documents to send off for work. Don't even get me started on the Xmas shopping, none of it is done yet!! Hoping to get a few frogs off my list tonight!

GWS vibes to everyone who needs them. Fingers crossed it's nothing serious for lynnejk!

I will update the list of who's sent the christmas cards tomorrow. I'm feeling really rather rough that I've spent nearly all day on and off asleep. I'm now heading off to bed now in the hope I feel a lot better tomorrow.

Mine will be posted tomorrow, likewise secret Santa as it has been a mad week and I'm totally exhausted now.

Best wishes to all, a lot of sick/worried people around so may the next few days and weeks bring more joy, good news and better health.

All I've done today is another assessment which needs writing up, booked another private one, seen a student which will need lesson plan/review and done a couple of very minor things from my master list. Oh well.
