Generally speaking I do 2 dyslexia/dyspraxia etc assessments each week for the uni which time-wise equates to 3-4hrs at uni for each one then twice that to write the report. Last week I'd rashly offered to do an extra one as we have such a waiting list, plus I had a private one as well! The joys of being self employed - make the money when you can!
I hear you on that! My work is relatively quiet at this time of year but come early spring it'll wind up again.
Just finished working; sat on the sofa with Whiz but must make myself a coffee in a minute and get going with the list.SaveFlymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Did I post yesterday? I thought I posted yesterday but can't find it. Either that or I'm losing it (not unusual). Anyway, I'm back for my second week. Managed level 1 yesterday for the kitchen (I think). That was my morning. DH took toddler to playgroup while I pottered on as he had a day off, and I got in touch with a couple of rental agencies about properties (need to move somewhere cheaper, DH had a promotion earlier in the year but is travelling further for it, so we ended up needing a second car - he was cycling before - we're actually financially worse off now he's earning more. It's 'fun'
). We had a 'date' in the afternoon...tempted just to go for a nap but went for a walk instead and treated ourselves to some Co-op custard doughnuts :P
Not much motivation today, woke up a bit blue - it'll pass no doubt. Just aware of outstanding report's for clients, a house that never feels tidy, money too tight to mention (now that song'll be stuck in my head today) and general winter blues and hormones. Ho humNewbie doing the best I can:A

Me too sweetie, especially as I'm the only one bringing any money in so feel what you're saying re money too tight to mention (it's in my head now!) and I only work part time self employed plus no real work around at the moment. As my GP says to me 'this too shall pass' and we have to just keep hanging in there. My house is a real tip, DH and DS hoard, I'm fed up of the general greyness of the weather and we're having trouble with my 9 year old re going to school. Sending a hug to you.

(((Hugs))) for Mumof2 and Redshank, and Valli. So arrives the day of the only shopping trip I do with DH each year. We go to a [STRIKE]hell on earth[/STRIKE] shopping center and he goes to get himself breakfast while I make a start. We divide the list 90% me, 10% him. We split up and meet up for lunch. He is ridiculously pleased with the [STRIKE]toot[/STRIKE] he has bought. He goes to the cinema to see a film. I continue with the shopping. He gets the hump when I tell him I haven't finished. We leave before I am ready as there is football on and [STRIKE]life will come to an end for him if he misses it[/STRIKE] he wants to watch tv. I will wrap the presents.
In 3 weeks time he will take the plaudits for all the gifts and tell me I must be more organised next year.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Sounds a lot like what happens here, and not just about Christmas shopping either. I think our OHs would be very good company for each other in the [STRIKE]man creche[/STRIKE] pub watching footie wondering why women get so het up about Christmas.
OH has just asked me to help him measure our wardrobes for the cedar tongue and groove we need to order. Apparently it comes in 3.3m lengths, 6" wide, so that's not confusing, is it? I finally realised the reason he felt unsure of himself was that having had an education that stressed more about tap dancing (he got a silver) and rather less on arithmetic he couldn't actually work out how much he needed. He was also sure that he didn't want any wastage / offcuts and I have earmarked them for something else. Sorted.
And today I think I should shuffle kitchen dresser contents ready for the delivery on Thursday which, in a very roundabout way might, at long last, give me the storage I need in my room of doom. It would be so lovely to be able to have the things I want to use easily to hand. CS later with another pile of [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] valuable and useful stuff.Better is good enough.0 -
Mumto5 your post did make me smile - hope your expedition is going well!
Thank you for the hug Honey Bear
I've kept my promise - I've done all the washing up in the kitchen, cleaned the hob, cleaned the windows and window sill, wiped down and bleached the worktops. It all looks much better in there now. I'm meeting a friend for coffee and a chat later but first DH and I are going food shopping just to get some essentials. Will do what I can in the lounge before bedtime.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Didn't get on here yesterday (it was DH's birthday) so have only just seen Valli's very sad news. I am so sorry sweetie; I wish I could take away the hurt you are feeling right now. (((HUG)))
Between us we got the Yule cards written this morning (I detest that task); he still hasn't said anything about decs - I may get away with not doing them this year.
Need to pop into town in a few minutes, I have to collect my eye drops from the pharmacy and pay a cheque into the bank. I think we need to visit the cashpoint too, as we'll need to do an @ldi shop soon.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hope your Dh had a good birthday LW.
Hugs for all who need one.
Heading to Drs now as I want to nip in the shops on the waySPC~12 ot 124

Also washed and dried two king-size duvets - soo heavy when wet eh but done now :j

Mumof2 and Redshank I am with you both. I work two jobs and do 90% of the domestic stuff.
Oh as for men and Christmas? I refuse to shop with DH now. I do it all, presents for his family, my family, the kids, the next door neighbours and even the dog. I buy the food, wrap the presents, put the tree up, make the cake, peel the sprouts. He does? Errrrr? Answers please?
On the plus side I get to buy whatever I want for the kids!
The house is OK-ish. Bathroom will get done tomorrow morning and I will schedule in an hour between job no. 1 and job no. 2 tomorrow to run round like a mad woman with the hoover and duster.
Tired, an early night calls. Need to check what is on the mealplanner for tea tomorrow night.0 -
I'm still plodding away.....trying to forget the C word and hoping that if I take baby steps every day it will all miraculously get done!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0
