  • Sorry I missed your sad news too Valli - thinking of you.

Have done Xmas shopping with Mum. DHs monthly invoices done. DH has been at home all day so has done a bit of cleaning. I have given in and tumble dried a load of washing, just cant seem to get on top of it.

Tree is down out of the loft but still in the box. Too late to do that tonight.

Narco you always seem to be doing reports - is it always busy like this for you?

It's the busiest time of year, Oct - Feb. Generally speaking I do 2 dyslexia/dyspraxia etc assessments each week for the uni which time-wise equates to 3-4hrs at uni for each one then twice that to write the report. Last week I'd rashly offered to do an extra one as we have such a waiting list, plus I had a private one as well! The joys of being self employed - make the money when you can!

I'm not being too good on concentrating today.
Still, we managed to go to Mr T this morning, went to look at MIL's potential flat and although the manager was out so we couldn't see the actual one, another very kind resident in the block offered to show us his flat. It seemed really nice, similar sort of size to where she's living but of course on the ground floor and with a lovely wet room so no more carrying shopping upstairs and no more slipping over the edge of the bath.

Have got dinner for tomorrow ready chopped in the fridge so just need to turn on the slow cooker in the morning before zumba.

I had a treat when typing this afternoon, 5 fairies (long tailed tits for those who don't know me and my obsession) came to the feeder right at my computer window, I've never seen them on that feeder before.

    Right, back to report :(

Did you ever find out what the odd noise was? It can be quite alarming can't it? Although my animals are always making odd noises so I'm mostly used to it now haha.

The cats are singing and thumping while the rabbit attempts to take a nap after a brief run round.

Not really but they both seem ok. I sat girl piggie on my knee and every time I cleared my throat she chattered at me, lol. I can't help having a cough!

Well the kiddies persuaded me to put the outside lights up and the tree. So I guess its Christmas! They did a really nice job of the tree actually :A

Finished homework tonight although I'm not really happy with it. Need more books I think. Also cleaned kitchen after dinner.

Do you need to give Christmas Boxes to milkmen, window cleaners etc?I know I need to sort out a Christmas Box for my lovely postman, who is very good and even knows when I am up and about now so he can deliver any parcels

    Extras
Don't forget any cards and presents posted!
Check through Christmas ornaments, do any need throwing away or replacing. Last thing you want when you decorate your tree is to find broken ornaments!!!
Clean out the fridge.. make use of anything almost past its best

    Christmas Extras
Finalise those last minute presents you have to buy..
Wrap all the presents for family/friends
Finalise shopping orders/lists for your christmas food shop.. remember shops are only closed for one day!!!!

Had a day at home yesterday. Got quite a bit accomplished. I had a good clear out of the cupboards in the utility room and have made lots of room to store the christmas food I am stockpiling.

I hope your move went well Dizzy.

So arrives the day of the only shopping trip I do with DH each year. We go to a [STRIKE]hell on earth[/STRIKE] shopping center and he goes to get himself breakfast while I make a start. We divide the list 90% me, 10% him. We split up and meet up for lunch. He is ridiculously pleased with the [STRIKE]toot[/STRIKE] he has bought. He goes to the cinema to see a film. I continue with the shopping. He gets the hump when I tell him I haven't finished. We leave before I am ready as there is football on and [STRIKE]life will come to an end for him if he misses it[/STRIKE] he wants to watch tv. I will wrap the presents.

In 3 weeks time he will take the plaudits for all the gifts and tell me I must be more organised next year.

    - gird your loins lovely and get through it. Maybe a cheeky glass of vino when you meet for lunch would take the edge off it?!:o

Kitchen is spotless and I have bleached my sink :A However, whilst I have been doing this the children have been upstairs - so I expect that will be a Shopkin/lego strewn disaster :rotfl:

Volunteering this morning, then on to M&S to spend a gift voucher, then picking DS up at 11.30 (MiL is taking him for new shoes). Lunch, then on to stay-and-play at the local childrens centre until 3pm when we go to collect DD. She has a friend over for tea tonight - her first tea time playdate since she started Reception - and is beyond excited.

I will also wrap some pressies this morning, and make my final list of things to buy/organise. Have lovely days all x

Only got lunchtime work today but need to get those knitted stocking finished so I'm going to have two hours knitting time this morning then fly till work time, write and wrap this afternoon plus a Drs appt then got free cinema tips tonight with a sewing up session once we get home.
I did manage a quick trip down the post office yesterday so overseas and all cards needing stamps have now gone. But I've got to wrap some gifts that need posting think I'll aim to get those in the post by next Tuesday to give me time not to rush them.

  • Morning all,

    Goodness doesn't everyone sound busy.
I'm off the paid stuff today, it is the nativity and DD2 is Mary. It will be the last one, as she will be ks2 next year, and they don't do them. Boo. She is still my baby.
    So, the plan:

Work on the lists until 11.30 then
    Half hour leaf hoovering
    Lunch
    Hhi
Pick up mil and go to nativity.
    Cry a bit
    Edit shopping order
    Check bank accounts
    Check school money
    Run with dog
Write some Christmas cards or else.

Narco I have suddenly been visited by many fairies. We don't really see them often in our garden, but we have had five at once on the feeder yesterday. They are lovely. On the other end of the scale dd1 saw a heron stood on our drive next to the car the other day!

    Right, off I go.

My thoughts are with Valli and family.
iona I hope your DH is continuing to improve x
