Lovely walk with J and the dog this afternoon; quite mild here today. Walk marred by Whiz rolling in fox poo (again) but I gave him a shower when we got back so fall fine again! S came home with a letter saying that there's suspected norovirus in school and telling us what to do and keeping kids off etc so the OCD side of me is roaring like a tiger!! Deep breaths are called for.

Flying wise, vacuumed through all of downstairs this evening and that alone makes everything look better.

Ionafan I've taken a leaf out of your very efficient book and this eve Mr N and I wrote a monster list "to do", "to buy" and "this weekend" (as his brother is visiting and I need to plan food/outings etc). I'm sure it will get longer as I remember things, but I feel a whole load better for writing it.

Actually it was quite a good day today.
    - 1st student postponed until tomorrow which gave me extra time to check and send one report, and progress the next which I'm hoping to finish tonight.
    - emails caught up
    - afternoon assessment went well and will be easy to write up
    - nearly all cards done and posted now
    - lists done as described
    - dance class attended

I've got an "extra" night off tomorrow as one of the friends I was going out for a Christmas meal with is ill, so we've postponed it till New Year.

And.....drum roll......the water board have given in and are fitting us a new shower on Friday.

Hm, doesn't sound much but I feel a bit more in control today than I have in the past few days. Various miscellaneous bits of housework have been done.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

Aaaand bed. At last. I. Am. Exhausted.

I've been flat out since Monday traipsing to and from the house with bags and boxes. Still not there yet, but it's starting to look better.

Had a stressful couple of days with the move, as have only just been connected up to the gas, so no heating, hot water or cooking facilities for 48 hours. Builders dug through the oil pipe from the garage to the house, after having dinked the outside tap, which meant no water Monday evening until about 4pm.

If these are some of the pleasures of camping then that idea can take a long walk off of a short pier.

Tired now - hugs all round xxx

Belated birthday wishes for Mr LW

Bit of a scare today. My DSD had to go for a mammary scan. Unfortunately they found something they didn't like and kept her there for four hours in order to do a biopsy. She has to return next Wednesday for the result so some 'hoping it's nothing' vibes would be great please.

Went all the way through with the new sucker-upper - great !

Can anyone offer an easy way to clean venetian blinds PLEASE. They are in need of a good clean, especially the kitchen one, and I am 'fessing up to putting it on the 'to-do list' for far too long :o

Cards all written. I'm going to play postman t/m for the local ones and send the rest from the post office, together with a couple of early birthday cards (in case get held up with the extra post).

Busy busy day, in early for a meeting, job no. 2 this aft, DS2 to footie training tonight, shopping to do, parcel to collect. Chimney sweep is coming so I havent cleaned downstairs, he usually doesnt make too much mess but we are having both the LR open fire and kitchen woodburner done.

  • Morning all,

Oh Lynne how scary, I hope the results come back clear xx
    Hugs to Dizzy xx

We are all so busy. Please please try and take a bit of time for yourselves everyone xx

Rubbish night with DS again. He is having bad nightmares and waking up 2/3 times a night. I am shattered. It is chucking it down here, so we will have to drive to school. DH is back tonight, and I have a list as long as my arm to get through. Though I will try and factor in half an hour with my book later.

    Have lovely days all xx
