Trying to sort out S's bedroom - proper little hoarder he is. Chucked out a big bag full of gibble, got some stuff for CS and been wiping down woodwork etc. J has got lots of stuff in S's room - S HATES his room and last night said he wants to sort it out and for Dad to get rid of his rubbish. So there's me on my knees putting stuff away, wiping things down etc ready for Dad to shift carp. Nothing happened yet. I've been showing S broken toys saying this can go now but he won't let me so just put it all in a big tub and will work on it gradually. Tired now, back aching so having a break.
Honey Bear sounds like you're doing great with shifting stuff!
Narco as Miranda would say 'such fun'!!
Yorkshirelass glad you're sitting down chilling a bit. I'm desperate to sit and sew but need to crack on with some of this stuff. I do intend to later though ;o)
Bossy sounds like you have a busy day. Hope DD enjoys the show later!
Jazee what an awful bug you've got/had; take it real easy now.
Valli more hugs winging their way.
Lynnejk thinking of your DSD re next week. Horrid to have it looming isn't it.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Hello. Me again. HB you're making real tracks with your clearing, nice that you've got the house to yourself for a couple of days. Oh no it isn't....Oh yes it is.....
Ok, so I have changed our bedding, done a quick hoover through and finished putting up the Christmas decorations (and then had to hoover again). Then DH came home from the paid stuff and took me out for lunch. It was nice to get out of the house other than just walking the dogs round the block.
2nd dog walk in a little while but that will be it for today.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Now up to 3 carrier bags worth out of S's room but had to call it a day. Down to J now. The colour of the water in the bucket I used for wiping down the surfaces/skirting boards was awful; feel ashamed but the whole room feels nicer now. S is pleased and has promised he'll not get it like that again - let's hope he remembers.
J made me a drink and then it's time to get the WM on again with the kids school shirts. I'd love a weekend where I can just sit and do what I want to but doesn't seem possible right now.
Jazee is it rainy where you are? Chucking it down here in Bristol; no way Whiz will set a paw outside the front door!Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Afternoon all.
Christmas shopping is finished, apart from food. Three small gifts have been posted. Wrapping of the remainder will start next week.
All Christmas cards to be posted, apart from one to Germany which requires a letter in German, have been dispatched; just a few local ones still need to be written and delivered.
Tip run done with garden rubbish from last Sunday's clearance.
Warming soup made for lunch out of leftovers from the day before yesterday (chicken thighs in beetroot and barley "risotto") with mushrooms and an added sprinkle of garam masala nom-nom, which has seen off the last of my cold.
4 cards made for another celebration tomorrow.
Sat down for a :coffee: and had 2 hours' sleep on the sofa - I was very tired after a lot of driving yesterday for a delicious meal out with DH and friends from church, but I drank too much normal coffee (I normally stick to decaff) which gave me a really bad night. Feeling much better now.
It's tipping down here too. I am thankful to be indoors in a cosy house.
DH has a friend coming round to chat in a few minutes, so I will hopefully be left in peace to get on with some more reading!
Good to see you're feeling better, Jazee, and even up to making jokes. (Oh yes you are!)
Great news on the shower at last, Narc0!
HB, congratulations on reaching your desk without having to go mountaineering.
Mumof2, it sounds like you've done a very good day's work there in S's room.
More (((hugs))) and spoons where needed, and posivibes for Lynnejk's DSD.
Will catch you all on the new thread tomorrow.0 -
Phew - it's been a crazy ol' day / few days hasn't it?
For some reason DD thought it would be a good idea to put her finger inside the tunnel of our musical train ornament thingy, while it was switched on. Of course the train came round, and jammed her finger tight. Cue blood curdling screams, me thinking it much surely be part-severed. It was properly stuck, with no reverse mode but we managed to ease it back and free her hand. She's ok now but sure was a heart-in-mouth moment!
We've spent most of the day, other than that, at the dance studios. Last lesson, certificates and rosettes and a little party. Managed to get DS hair cut in the middle of it all and go buy some mince pies that the dance teacher forgot to bring.
Have since made a gammon roast dinner, as we are out tomorrow too, football plus another party, so thought I'd get the veg quota down! Oh, piggies cleaned out and fed too.
I think we might need a nap on Monday - poor kids will be bushed! I need to do my homework and maybe wrap some presents.
My cold that had gone and left me with a cough has come back - how irritating. Just took some paracetamol.
Hopith things calm down for us all xxxBossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Waving from the sofa. I have cooked tea and put a wash in. DH is ironing.
Spent yesterday at the hospital ruling out another blood clot in my lung. Eventually they decided I just had an infection in it and could come home. I had to go to my 2nd choice hospital as preferred one was on black alert.
Hope your cold goes away and stays away soon bossy x0 -
Good to know that you're sofa surfing and have delegated the ironing, dancemum. Get well soon x
Lucky Little Miss Moo! Is the finger OK? Does the ornament still work?0 -
Ow, poor Miss Bossymoo; hope she's OK.
Dancemum glad you're home again - what's the first hospital on black alert for? Well done DH doing the ironing.
Iona enjoy your book!
Got a load of whites ready to go first thing tomorrow morning. In the afternoon we're taking S and 3 of his friends to Bristol Rugby to watch them play a French team. We love the rugby. Going to get S to bed, grab a cuppa and, at long last, do some sewing .... bliss!Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Healing vibes for DanceMum and LittleBossy - ouch.
A nice day here, DH cooked a full english breakfast then we went to a local Christmas market. Did a few jobs this afternoon and a little bit of paid stuff. House is reasonably tidy - changed our bed and did some washing today.
I am on taxi duty tonight, have taken DS1 to the pub so will have to pick him up but I dont mind, he has been such a help to me lately and it means he can chill out and have a beer or two.
Taking DS2 to footie tomorrow and must try and get the dog out for a proper walk if its dry.0
