Been a flying morning even though I'm still in my PJs!! Had a bit of a lie in and J brought me up a nice cup of tea - my treat on a Sunday morning as I get him a cuppa first thing every other day. Since I've been up though I've browned some meat and onions and have a nice casserole going in the slow cooker for when we get in from rugby this evening. Also put away all the gibble in the kitchen, washed up and given the worktops a good scrub. J cut S's hair and I am just about to have a shower now. WM on and will hang that up before we go out. I'd like to run the vacuum cleaner around too if I can.
Honey Bear glad you're able to slowly but surely sort through your Mum's stuff. I've got a few things to go on ebeast too; will list them very soon now.
Valli no wonder you had a wobble on Friday, it's still all so very recent and I know I find particular songs can set me off too. Thinking of you.
Yorkshirelass washing in or out? It's sunny here in Bristol to make up for the attrocious rain yesterday.
ATB lovely that you took your kids to see Father Christmas. How old are they? It's lovely when they're so excited and really believe in him isn't it.
Narco hope today's lunch goes well and that you manage to find some time to watch Strictly! I want to catch up on The Apprentice too from Thursday but haven't had a chance. We've been watching The Fall on Amazon Prime and I love it - started slow but on series 2 and lapping it up
Right, it's the afternoon so I must get dressed. Have a lovely afternoon all xFlymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Big hugs to you Valli. You are in my thoughts xx
Mumof2 - they are 4 and nearly 3. It's really lovely to see how enchanted they are with all things Christmas related xx
I have ticked most of my list off for the day  just got a couple of texts to send that fall into the Frog category as they are awkward, but then I'm done.
DH will cook dinner. Kiddies are just having lunch then I am going to bath them, snuggle into PJs. light the fire and have lazy afternoon
Big hugs to all xxMFW

Enjoy Kaz, sounds like Christmas somewhere exciting for you - sorry if I should know where!
I gave up my place in a queue yesterday for a Mum struggling with a very hyped up girl of about 4 and an older boy who was moaning. You could just feel the stress coming off the poor Mum in waves. This time of year is magical when they are little but blimey it can be hard work too. Hope everyone is finding some time to relax a tiny bit this week and enjoy the build up.
Gammon and potato bake cooking for tea, all washing is done, dried (mostly outside) and put away, mealplan done for the week, house reasonably tidy. I need to run the hoover around downstairs but will wait until DS1 is home and we have had tea.
See you all on the new thread! 10 days left at work for me.0 -
Hi all
I've had a stressful weekend after a patient had an adverse reaction to treatment on Friday, so I can't stop worrying about it! Most of the daily flying is done (washing, dishes etc) and we managed to get rid of our wedding centrepieces finally so that's a little bit of decluttering done! We've got a large pile for the charity shop as well.
December is so busy for us, it's hard to keep on top of everything. I'm sure it's the same for everyone! Hope to get a few more jobs done this week, then OH has 3 weeks off for Christmas, so he'll be getting lists of jobs to do each day0 -
Question: How can one small Border Terrier manage to occupy three quarters of the sofa?

Thanks. Had a bit of a technical hitch; having made the soup yesterday, I put the bread machine on after breakfast and realised to my horror it took 4hrs not 3, so went to church and it was still going when I returned.
If anyone wants a veggie meal and has the free Tesc0 magazine, I can recommend the savoury cheesecake recipe which I tried today. Actually I made the base from the recipe on the previous page, a gluten free one made from nuts and coconut oil. I had a bit of a panic worrying whether the cheesecake would set, but it rose fine like a souffle and set perfectly. Popular with all, and definitely one I will do again although the calorie content is probably through the roof as it's all nuts, cheese and eggs! High protein though - note that FBO.
Sent Mr N, BIL and their mum for a walk this afternoon so I could do the cheesecake, do some flower arrangements and catch up on a bit of report writing.
Hugs Valli it is so hard, especially when all around you are being jolly and festive.
