She's ok thanks ladies, no lasting damage. And miraculously the train still works! Even poor DS ran upstairs and hid though, he was so frightened from all the screaming!Bossymoo

Ditto.
Today we have:
- been to posh farm shop and bought some presents. Rewarded ourselves with a coffee and very rich chocolate brownie.
- put up large tree (new position from last year and don't remember it being so big) and decorated it. Put small tree in front window. I was hoping we'd do that together then I could zip on up to do some more reporting, with a fairly easy dinner. However Mr N thought MIL would like to come round and watch, so I felt compelled (my fault not MIL's) to take more care over dinner, make a pudding, clear the table properly etc.
- Finished all but 1 card, which needs a letter, and a few e cards.
- made soup for tomorrow's lunch. BIL due to arrive 11-12 and Mr N suggested he pick MIL up on the way through. Huh. Had already planned dinner for 4; now the soup will have to stretch.....at least I did a ginger cake for pudding this eve (with apricots and yogurt) so we can have it for lunch.
- a few phone calls caught up.
- lots of "stuff" moved from kitchen to make room for more mess....as I now have flowers soaking in one bucket and Oasis in another, in preparation for a couple of arrangements tomorrow.
- Mr N has gone round to see friends so I strong mindedly recorded Strictly (goodness knows when I'll watch it) and have been doing a report. As you can tell, I'm now tired, both of the report and in general. Ho hum.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Ouch for the train injury to MissyMoo Bossy - sounds painful

My cracked Kindle is limiting the reporting of the extent of my flying (if you believe that, you'll believe anything lol) but I have had a busy day...0 -
Good Morning ladies
Big hugs to Dancemum and Miss Moo.
Narco - hope you feel well rested this morning xx
Mumof2 - well done on your efforts yesterday x
We had a lovely day yesterday seeing Father Christmas. It's a lovely drive out there from our house, and the children were brilliantly behaved. Poor DD has a hacking cough though, and it's her first nativity tomorrow so an easy day is on the cards here. That said, I have just written a list with 8 things on it that absolutely must be done today so I think the others will have an easy day whilst I crack on with these bits and pieces.
WM and DW are on. Kiddies watching Big Hero 6. DH and dog snoring. That sentence pretty much sums up my life!
Have lovely days all xxMFW

Morning all.
Hope Bossy and Dancemum are feeling better soon.
Mumof2 - it didn't start raining here until after the dog walk yesterday but boy did it come down. I'm a long way from you though, in North Yorkshire.
My plans for today have been changed a little. I was due to go with DD to DS's fiancee for a girlie afternoon and birthday celebrations but DS's fiance is poorly again so we'll just drop off her pressies, let her rest, and go and look at the Christmas lights in York.
So the sandwich lunch (prepacked) I'd planned to take with us needs using up. I've just had an egg mayo sandwich for breakfast. Will probably give some to DD's fiance for his work lunch tomorrow.
So I need to exercise, get clean and walk the dogs.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning all
Went out Friday night on work Christmas do, one song made me wobble, but I knew it would as I burst into tears a couple of months back when it came on the radio. Did go to florist (same florist my Flylady flowers came from) to choose our tribute. We will take it with use. Funeral is on 21st. Made spaghetti Bol and have run DW and tidied kitchen. I was pleased I managed to order flowers without crumbling.
And I must start flying... or the house will be beyond rescue.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Oh Valli sad times, thinking about you x
A lazy day here, well in relative terms. A few bits of housework to do, need to make plans for the week, must ring my Mum and see if they are OK. Dog needs a walk and I am debating over whether there is any point in hanging washing out - the sun is trying to shine.
But at the moment everyone else is still in bed and I am curled up under a blanket on the sofa with a nice cup of coffee.
Have a good Sunday everyone x0 -
Hugs to poorlies and Valli.
I've managed the basics this week plus bathrooms done to level 3 and some more Christmas prep done.2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
Not been around much online this week, up to my eyeballs at home. Got a last-minute booking; my first guest with the new dog-sitting company, but it's a dog who has followed me from the old company, iyswim; his owners have a family crisis on, and need him looked after for the weekend.
Also got two meet'n'greet visits on Wednesday - where prospective guests and their owners come over for a chat and possibly a walk to see if we're the right carers for those particular dogs.
Still not put any Yule decs up.
Valli thinking of you, sweetie. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
More (((hugs))) for you, Valli.
Well done for springing into action over S's room Mumof2. My mother was a hoarder and while she was alive my father used to phone me regularly to go and sort out her freezers, dressers, whatever. The fact that I'm still dealing with her stuff 10 years after she died tells me something but none of it's healthy, is it? Of the 14 items of hers on Ebay 8 will sell today and I can cope with keeping the rest if they don't. Some decisions have to be made for us, don't they?
Rather surprisingly the two people who turned up yesterday for the fridge and the fridge freezer both arrived single-handed, so next time I put a big item up for sale I'm going to specify they will need to remove it themselves. Anyway, they've gone and I'm working on other biggies. More flingage. OH and I are negotiating who gets which spaces that have been freed up.Oh no it isn't....Oh yes it is.....

WM on because the dog's towels really can't wait any longer and then I might write a few more Christmas cards.Better is good enough.0
