Problem is not them knocking on the door. its the wet /damp welcome they are finding.

Cure the damp , slugs won't come and visit.

    Check under/in the cupboards

If the area is dry , you wont find slugs. My garden , like most has its fair share of the creatures but they don't come in to a dry environment .

As Dolly-Rocket says, they can get thru the smallest opening.
  • My Mum had this problem and fitted a 'brush' type draught excluder under her kitchen door - so far so good.
I've since heard that a strip of copper may work too.

Slugs leave a slime trail, silvery lines on the floor. Follow this back and you will find where they are getting in.

We've a big slug/snail problem in the garden and tried different sorts of pellets. We've had great success with Bio Slug & Snail killer pellets. When you find where they are getting in you could put some pellets down as well as trying to repair the gap/hole (or whatever).

Slug pellets around the point of entry, they must be coming in from the garden towards a food source?

Yup, a line of slug pellets against the walls of the house. If you can find where they are getting in on the outside (not always easy) then plug it if you can.

And get a dog. I haven't seen a slug since Max arrived. I'm not even going to think about where the slugs are going. Slug pellets no longer required.
