Could I replace my BT6500 base unit with a BT8500 base unit and still use my 3 BT6500 extensions or will I have to replace all my extensions?over 73 but not over the hill.0

If the base station and handsets are 'GAP compatible', the handsets will work with any base station, and vice versa - as far as making and receiving calls. One issue is that some additional features related to trueCall may not be available on the old handsets.0

Now I know why I got such a good deal on 4 handsets.
Old technology.:)over 73 but not over the hill.0 -
I can thoroughly recommend the trueCall phones. I bought a set six months ago after receiving ten nuisance calls in one evening. I haven't had a single one get through since.0

With thanks.:)0 -
Excellent bit of kit complete with answering machine, not had a single unwanted or scam call since buying twelve months ago.
Bought ours from Amazon.

I had a BT 8500 with trueCall but it was something of a disaster: The trueCall call blocker was a little too efficient. While spam calls were almost instantly excluded but so were legitimate calls. Business associates, doctor's surgery and hospital typically use unmanned dialers which can't answer the challenge. Friends too answered the the challenge with "eh" or "what" and didn't give their name as they should have. So I really only got to know who was calling until after I had spoken to them. Lastly even now I can't find the "Block" key referred to in the "Call Options" card.
I reasoned that I would be able to better manage my white and black lists manually and so I bought a Panasonic KX-TG6812EB Twin DECT Cordless Telephone Set from Amazon and that is perfect for me. All new callers get through and I blacklist (block) spam callers. Simple. No answerphone but I don't need one because I use the free 1571 service (Plusnet)0 -
I think Anthorn's issues with the call guardian based phone would have been solved if he'd bothered to read the instructions.0

As above you put all your wanted calls on the whitelist .0

Hi
Has anyone used a BT call blocking handset on their EE / Orange landline?
As the caller display works as does 1571 I presume that this is a BT rented line anyway?
Any advice welcomed
TIA
