Wide awake was going to get up and go shopping this morning but having had a neighbour pop in to see baby last night, had a fair few glasses of vino. Staying safely off roads till later - maybe wrap presents
Good news I complained about train problems last week and got half the fare back so £35 cheque sitting here. Cash back from switching utilities on here another £30 on a roll :T:T
Ah now then, being as I am from around those parts, the local name is Western Super Mud, so we can be the Muddies for short." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Afternoon all,
I can declare that the debt I have been tackling for nearly 3 and a half years (including the extra debt left when I asked the ex to leave and he didn't take his debt) has been paid off :j :j :j :j
I am so pleasedHowever I am not debt free due to the new roof, which I got a loan for. I aim to pay this off and have a new bathroom by January 2019
I have my last bit of food shopping to do tomorrow. I will be off to the shops at 7.30am but I'm feeling a bit under the weather today, so will be off to bed early.

Congratulations Fmess.
Not sure I have the sleeping thing sorted yet. I am excellent at sleeping, but he timing - let's just say I was rooting around in DS3's room on a rubbish hunt at 4.30am and have missed several hours of daylight today. DS3 asked me what I was doing (he was only watching video game reviews) but has let me in in the past hour. Score so far is 3 large carrier bags of recycling and lots of little bags of general rubbish (I pick up a takeaway bag and keep stuffing until it's full). Only about a third of the way into the room.
The sleeping is wonderful, my eyes are a lot less sore (have also been rubbing antiseptic cream round them very carefully). I made bacon barm cakes earlier (luxuries I don't have often) but then thought it was still a sandwich albeit a hot one. Feeling quite relaxed, like being in front of the fire and drifting in and out of sleep.
The only fly in the ointment is a smidgen of guilt that I am not 'doing what is expected of me' because I am not wrestling with a turkey that refuses to defrost/ panic wrapping presents/ cleaning the house to within an inch of it's life/ preparing to feed a multitude. Keep reminding myself that I have done all these in the past, including welcoming all manner of waifs and strays, continuing dutifully when barely able to stand up due to illness and doing Christmas dinner with pauses to go and throw up (morning sickness) and when the house looks perfect I start to feel as though I don't belong after a couple of days.
I have had a takeaway using some of my present money. I offered DS3 Indian whilst Beloved is away (she doesn't like it). He decided on Chinese and asked if I wanted my 'usual' meal. I asked if I could have spring rolls as well and he said I could have anything I liked as I was paying. I have indulged in chicken and sweetcorn soup. I think it is very expensive for what it is, so hardly ever have it but it was just what I needed and I savoured every mouthful. Saving the meal for tomorrow.
I will be around over the next few days (maybe at odd hours) but here are my Christmas wishes for you all
I hope you get to celebrate Christmas/ Winter Solstice/ being off work and with loved ones in whatever manner you choose.
If you have children I hope that they love what they get, that you get a few hours sleep between Father Christmas visiting and them waking up and that neither you or especially them gets sick.
If you have visitors or fellow guests who are difficult I hope your patience holds out.
If you are alone, I hope that it is from choice.
If this is the anniversary of a bereavement or you are just missing someone who is no longer in your life, it's important to allow yourself time apart to think, remember, grieve or whatever is appropriate.
Joy, peace and happiness to you all and a solvent future ahead.
Today I am grateful for sleep, blissful sleep, chicken and sweetcorn soup and not being cold, lonely, afraid, in serious pain or hungry. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
