A NSD (no 2). Not much else to report - still waiting for my fight back spirit to emerge.

Today I am grateful for being able to get downstairs (couldn't do it early on), for being able to scrape another meal from stores (last pork chop, defrosted some days ago, last portion of mash, have defrosted something that looks like veg curry but have no recollection of making any so? mystery meal) and for the car park being a never ending tableau of human life (like to make up stories about the people based on what I see).

CCL - turning down the works do definitely counts.

Bob - there is a saying along the lines of 'a tooth lost for every child'. When I was expecting DD I badly broke a tooth eating some toast.

nannygladys - I think you should have the coffee in town with your friend. Turning down an invitation was more aimed at people who have several events going on this month.

indigowarrior - I hear a lot of bad things about storage heaters.

Will pop back later in the day with exact spends for today. Tomorrow should have been a NSD but I asked DH to get me some chocolate on his way home so £1.40 spent.

I have finished all my Christmas shopping and have wrapped it all, all cards are written too. I have come in £80 under what I had saved so that has gone to savings. I have to be super organised at this time of year as kids have birthdays (today for DD) very close to Christmas.

Gosh what had you toasted? traumatic to say the least.

Sorry for posting twice but forgot to comment to Bob.

Have you seen this - http://www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/1781.aspx?CategoryID=74. It's quite handy to know what treatments come in each band.

My dentist is great, if you go for a check up its £19.70 and if you need a filling then another appointment is booked and on that occasion you are only charged £34.20 to take you up the £53.90 charge.

This is how NHS dentists work but I do wonder if some might charge what they can get away with.

Thanks so much EE I am going to challenge the cost and see whether I can get if down. I really appreciate you posting this.

    It's worth a try Bob.

Today a SFD stayed in all day 1/15

Yesterday needed cleanser and tooth brush heads. Some how bottle of Baileys came home with me. Jumping on naughty step now.

Not sure why but I am lifeless today pjs till mid day, never like that usually bouncing about by 7.30 even at weekends. Suffering from hot sweats after coming off HRT. Forehead soaking. Have done nothing all day, so nice to chill out anyway.

Tomorrow will get out in the fresh air and get active

  • Yesterday was a pretty big spend day - I did the monthly shop in Mr S (first time in ages) with dd. My boys are away chasing FA cup football matches this weekend so it's just me, dd and the cats. Thankfully she is frugally minded, and when I asked her how she wanted to spend the girls weekend she said shopping and watching Christmas films. The shopping turned out to be window shopping, and it cost nothing extra to make hot chocolate and sit in front of Netflix. She wants to go shopping again today - hope it's the same as yesterday... :D
Today we are also going to my mam's house for dinner and a catch up - always like being spoiled by my mam...

abundant - I seem to remember you eating a lot of tuna when you posted on here before:D.

I listed something on Freecycle on Friday and someone replied late which I saw on Saturday saying they could collect any time, then after I've replied and given them the address they can't come at this time, or that time or another. What is wrong with these people? I've now taken down the listing and am taking the things to the CS.

Me and OH got up early this morning and went out to get a few bits for the new flat and a small food shop. We're currently finishing up the contents of the freezer before we move and don't plan to do another food shop until after. I've hired a man and van for moving so that it is done in one day instead of bits and pieces over weeks like the last move. Date is a week on Wednesday so did a little packing yesterday. I'm working later today so plan is to do a little more painting at new flat this morning.

    Morning all

So Thursday was not a spend free day as got a few hits for the kitchen then did a shop at sainsburys. Spent £55 but £17 was on a bottle of rum for a present and about £8 was on new baking trays and £4 for Xmas dessert. Had £50 vouchers so only cost £5.

Was pleased Friday as a sfd until I remembered I had downloaded a sing from Amazon for 99p :(

I am classing yesterday as a NSD as I did spend but only on Christmas and birthday presents and bought myself a handbag with Christmas money.

Today will not be a NSD as I have my first December outing. Doing an escape room for my friends birthday (already paid for) and then having a meal and drinks. Other than that I am just decorating and batch cooking a pot of curry.

Hope everyone has a good day :)

    Morning All :)

Today is a NSD, yesterday was almost a NSD but grabbed a coffee in town while watching the christmas lights switch on.

For my charity thing, i have 9 bras that no longer fit me that I'd like to donate to a homeless shelter, or charity of some sort, so going to do that as well as donate to a cancer charity.

Trying to keep the heating down/off as much as possible, to save some money, but it's really chilly today.

Hugs to Calling14 and mothernerd, hope you're both feeling better soon.

Good luck Bob i hope you manage to get the price down.

    Have a good day everyone!

Today was almost a NSD, I had to buy some hair dye, and it came in at £1 less than I'd budgeted so I randomly bought a scratch card, which I've never done before, and won £2, so made a little profit lol.
