    Morning folks,

Congratulations to katy_ann on the arrival of your lo. Can't offer any better advice than all the excellent mums on this thread but second the opinion of take all offers of help :)

Dawn - sorry there's things going on

Hugs to all who need them.

Been awol for a couple of days over my weekend but have been very busy putting up our Christmas decs and mother-in-laws. Also sorted through a load of stuff and have more to take to the cs.

Am feeling back to normal after the panic attack - thank you to everyone for their support there :) the folks at the gym have been extra nice to me too!

More bad news in work sadly as one of my colleagues has been diagnosed with cancer :(

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores
    • OH working tonight
    • Lots of crochet - have set myself a target of finishing this blanket for Christmas hahahahahaha
    • No drinkies
    • Think about what we can eat this week. Fridge and freezer have all the wrong food IYSWIM
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Went to the gym this morning - done. I am SHATTERED!
    • Look for YS bargains in Tesco on the way home
    • Turn data off on phone as am getting reasonably low - done
    Short and sweet!

    Have a good one all

Hi everyone, I have not posted on here for a while however after a major spending spree last week (Black Friday) I thought I best try and get back into good habits. In all fairness I did most of the festive shopping so saved money in the long term.

    My plans for today are:

    Check bank and update spreadsheet
    Do 3 surveys
Let the chickens out and feed animals (check for eggs, although they have stopped laying at the moment)
Spend 4 hours on uni work
    Catch up with the laundry
Sort through massive ironing pile and put it away before it needs done again
Pay 2 bills to avoid late charges
    Declutter the master bedroom
List unwanted items from declutter online for sale
    Put up the new wardrobe
Look online for a cheap black top that dd needs for school nativity
Check luckyphone (not done for a while)
Check Numerplate lotto (not done for a while)
Check FPL (not done for a while)
Do daily on JPJ (also not done for a while)
Speak to dh reg wii as been thinking about joining the gym but thinking I could save money by using personal trainer on the wii.
Sort out spreadsheet for putting accounts on
Read Martins email from this week (Sorry to admit it but this is another thing I haven’t done for a while)
    Check TCB
Do some planning for YTube (I’m going to start posting videos)
Check swagbucks (not done for a while)
Check pigbank (not done for a while)

I think that is enough to get done today and hopefully get back into the right ways. Hope everyone has a good weekend x

  • Hi guys been a busy Saturday as we're looking after my godson. Lo and he seem to have developed a love hate relationship so we've been keeping them busy! Took them for a maccy's (oh paid) then we went to the cotton Powell museum. Lo loves it there weirdly! Lots of taxidermy, a walk around the grounds and then came home.

Saw an idea for making Christmas jumpers which involved self sticking glittery shapes and jewels so that kept them busy for the best part of an hour :) tea W's 1 1/2 sausages chopped up and shared between them, a couple of hash browns and cheesy beans. Loved and plates cleared.

Now they are upstairs playing peacefully :)

Have done 3 loads of washing. Since not having a wm for 2 weeks ago washing doesn't seem like so much of a chore!

I started sorting out my finances, which is a massive relief and the situation isn't as bad as I had thought. It has been an expensive couple of weeks - new to us wm, 2 fence panels, chimney swept and a bill for an electrician. Thank goodness for an emergency fund!

Oh going to bath the skids so I can have a break

Dinner for us is a chorizo pasta thing using up peppers that are on their last legs and some frozen kidney beans.

Y's chicken out of the freezer for tomorrow.

That's my lot. Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday evening x

  • Late check in again today. Busy, busy. DD had a party, took present from stash and card from box. She had a great time :D

    Other things today:
Both DD swimming, subs paid but in dispute with them as they took too much money on my DD and promised to reduce this months to compensate. I was dubious and right to be. Promised a phone call Monday morning. We'll see.
We did take them out for breakfast as a treat. However, we went somewhere where smalls eat free. So £18 for all of us - all local produce not one of those big chain places :)
Washing drying when rads on, have them on limited times
Will put another load on to wash tonight on cheap
Film now with smalls, will knit
DH working o/t tonight so he's already in bed. Will be another one before pay day too :D

Hope everyone is ok. Enjoy your evening.

    Evening all :)
Goodness ClootiesMum, I thought for a minute that you had written that you live IN a palace in Fife! Didn't know we had royalty in our midst :rotfl:
Bob, I feel exactly as you do about takeaways, tempting when you don't feel like cooking, but always disappointing, to say nothing of the cost
    Anyway, today:
Gave the lounge a good clean, as others have been doing. Christmas decorations won't be going up for a while, our tree lives in a pot in the garden and prefers it out there. It will come in for a few days nearer the time :) Mentioned to DH that I might buy a few decorations, to his horror :rotfl:He has seen so many facebook photos of giant snowmen, flashing father christmases etc, he thought I had succumbed to some kind of bad taste bug (I know children love all that :)) but I only meant some artificial flowers, that sort of thing :rotfl:
Sorted my sales stock, some boxes put away in loft now, so the spare bedroom looks much better :)
2 ebay items sold, must pack those in a minute ready for posting on Monday
    RM surveys tasks done
    Also an online survey
    Walked dog
Stuffed jacket potatoes for dinner, spuds baked in oven till cooked, popped in a dish of that cheap smoked fish that always seems to be reduced in the SM on the lower shelf while the oven was on, with a knob of butter and a squeeze of lemon, covered in foil. Put the fish in towards the end of the potatoes' cooking time, as it doesn't take long :) When potatoes done, scoop out the flesh and mash with a couple of spoonfuls of creme fraiche and some of the cooking liquid from the fish, then mix with the cooked fish broken into chunks, chopped parsley and seasoning, then pile back into the potato skins and grill till nice and brown. Lovely with a green vegetable :)

Right, dining room to sort out now!

    Dawn - I wish......:D
Small cottage outside a wee village & am grateful to have mains sewage & power.
In England this village would be a hamlet (it's so small)...
Although as far as royalty goes - next door has a table that Wills & Harry probably sat & ate at - I had a cup of tea at the table today - does that count??:o

    Morning all,
Not sure how many "small things" I will do today as we have a lovely day planned with the kids.

Going to the cinema with hubby & kids to see Dr Strange this morning, have had a good breakfast so won't have any snacks in the cinema. :)
Will pop into pr1mark to get a xmas jumper for our eldest (his old jumper now fits the youngest :) ) :)got a size bigger so will get more then one year out of it!
Need to add dry goods to the Mr T shop planned for tomorrow for the recipe hamper I'm doing for my niece for xmas
Heating will be off as much as possible and will make the most of candles, extra layers and blankets :)
Maybe a film from stores this evening :)The nice guys, rented using the rain peoples no rush freebie credit
Will park near my parents and walk into town to save parking costs :)Dad invited us for brunch, so I took the leftover sausages and they did the bacon, eggs, beans and toast :)
Will call in at the c00op before coming home to look for bargains :)Got ys leeks and ys parsnips, also some bread, ys cans of ironbru and some ys cheesecake that will be dessert for tomorrow :)
    Check luckyphone/mnumberplate/fpl :)

    That's enough for me.

    Have a lovely Saturday all.

Lovely day, the kids (and us) really enjoyed watching Dr Strange at the cinema this morning :)
A couple of other small things
Shared bath water & continued using up lotions and potions, also left hair to dry naturally.
Hot water bottles into the kids beds
Looked up a couple of recipes to try (making use of whats left in the use up box)
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

I hope you are able to get some rest Katy. And that you have support at home. It will get easier. Remember, you are enough for that baby. You have got this.
