  • Hi all

So right CCL about doing what feels right for your baby and not listening too much to other Mums. In fact that is still true when your child is 15!

So I am working today. Had a lovely day out on the bikes yesterday - very challenging ride but what a sense of achievement. I love it now the kids are older when we all go off and do our own thing on a Saturday then come together at tea time and sit and chat about our day. Simple pleasures. Oh and not a penny spent!

DH has taken DS2 to footie. I am working so I can have tomorrow afternoon off to take Mum shopping. DS1 tells me he is spending the day in bed watching telly and preparing himself for a busy week at work. I have agreed to supply regular cups of tea.

Changed energy supplier on Friday night and saved £260 a year on the variable plan that we would have gone onto when our fixed deal ends in January! If anyone is on a fixed deal that is going to end soon be aware of this.

Right, need to get on with some paid stuff.
  • Or 23 Yorkshire lass! People always want to tell me what's the best way to deal with my dd. I now just smile and nod and file with other useful titbit!s inside I want to be like "oh really? Jeez why didn't I think of that over the last decade!"

Afternoon all - or is it evening, so dark and cold :(
Still, we did see the sun today, which drove off last night's frost by mid morning :)
Not much moneysaving going on here today, as we met up with a friend for a pub lunch. It was a drive of about an hour and a half (we met up roughly between our respective homes), OH came - the lure of a couple of pints and a Sunday dinner :rotfl: He drove down, and I drove back, no problem for me as I never drink at lunch time :)
Not much will be needed for tea though, a piece of toast later on should do it!
Sold an item on ebay, so two parcels to pack this evening - sales have slowed down quite a bit, I guess people are spending their money on Christmas stuff instead.
Must also get postal survey items ready for the coming week.
Wood burner alight now, no heating downstairs today as we have been out :)
Must put the kettle on top for a 'free' cuppa later :D

Congratulations, Katy-Ann. I'm sure things have moved on a bit since having my son but the Health visitor had a questionnaire to determine whether you were likely suffering PND. It had questions like 'do you look forward to anything? (Having 5 minutes to myself to have a bath??!)

Apparently I did have PND though only mildly and I managed to avoid medication (though I am on ADs now which seem to have solved everything from anxiety attacks to my IBS but that's another story) and found that just reading a good book about PND (and how awfully some people can suffer) put it all into perspective for me. One thing I do remember is that the more capable and used to being in control of your life pre baby the more likely you are to suffer PND when you suddenly have this little being that has other idea!

Yorkshire less, radio 4 is fabulous, I find the shipping forecast really soothing and romantic :o (all those lovely shipping lane names!)

Hello everyone else :) I'm not sure when the new weekly thread starts but I think I'm on the right one...

Today I trimmed some brown bits off of our Christmas tree, I forgot to water it in the summer and I have given it a big drink of water before it comes in next week for year 3!

The marshmallow bags came for my slipper gifts to I have wrapped them all in some beautiful paper that I bought from a shop that was closing down in the summer.

We had the last sale of the year at work on Friday and I managed to pick up a skateboard for £5 for DS's GF (who is living with us now) to give to her little brother for Christmas. That is all my Christmas shopping done now apart from my mum.

I have sold half a dozen things on eBay this week and have listed a few more today. I transferred £50 to my bank account and paid a bit more off my credit card.

I've stocked up on soup for the week at work (tinned I'm afraid!) and have bought rolls and fillings for DS and GF to make lunches for themselves.

We cleared up the front garden in readiness for Christmas and I hung the Christmas lights in one of the bushes (powered by pound shop batteries.) DH removed a small willow tree that I had considered paying someone to take out so I'm over the moon about that. There are two or three other things in the garden that haven't impressed that will be coming out but not until after Christmas now.

Can't think of anything else, have a good week everyone :)

Ooh, I do have something else...

I ordered some Eva foam mats for a business venture I'm planning for the New Year which charged a delivery fee then realised the same company were on eBay selling the £2 cheaper and with free postage.

I emailed and called to cancel my order and ask for a refund which they agreed to do then I went ahead and ordered them on eBay....

Then I got an email saying the first lot had been dispatched, I called them again and they were really nice and helpful and said they could find no record of them being sent and it must just have been an automated email.

Then I had a card through the door to say a courier was unable to deliver so I arranged to collect them on Saturday. When I got there (assuming it was the eBay order) the woman said ' no wait, there are two boxes' and came back with the other order too.

I have checked and I have my refund but I have the mats too

They have been so nice and helpful (and karma is a biatch) so now I have to send them back to them :rotfl:
