Anic :T what a fantastic result :T just try and eat as healthily as you can the next couple of weeks, I'm sure you'll do fine as you won't want to spoil this success ;) ...

...LGDNUFC (is it Gladys by any chance?) I must say that your menu plan for today looks great; it never ceases to amaze me how SW ever works  but it does!!! I know for certain though, that if I ate that I would never have lost any weight, perhaps I've ruined my metabolism over the years by 'bad' dieting:o ...

... Welcome PM330qtm9.gifremember that a lot of good exercise is free; try and increase the amount you walk, and do it faster; use the stairs and ignore the lifts etc. If you're in charge of your own food prep, some basic things such as trimming excess fat off meat, grilling instead of frying, skimmed or semi skimmed milk instead of full fat, fresh fruit instead of stodgy puddings etc. Dieting need not be expensive, don't waste money on stuff you don't need. Remember it is only you that can control what you eat, so willpower is needed ;) . Please stay with us and I wish you success...

...I''ve been watching kerrang/scuzz, and jogging on the spot :o I want to try get my step count over 20,000 before DD and MrP come home. My average step count for last week was 17,131 :j I'm finding it to be very inspiring, so whoever first mentioned them a few weeks ago :T it's a success for me. I find that I can run quite a distance now, so my fitness must be improving.

Im a guy in my last year of uni and desperate to loose weight. I dont drink and have always been over weight. I started loosing weight last year when I went veggie but recently went backwards and gained a bit in the holidays. I did use to go gym but it costs a bomb and I feel aukward at start. :(

I need to loose around 8 stones in total can anyone help with suggestions about what to do?

..... PM you don't need to go to the gym to exercise. The awkwardness you feel will set you on a path of negativity right from the start. You'll feel that people are staring at you even though they are not. The trick is to find some way of raising heart rate a little in a way that you enjoy. If there's a Mrs PM, tell her these are gonna be three months she'll remember :D. For me the chosen exercise is golf and nothing but golf. I'd do a lot more but it's difficult to find a playmate :(

As far as eating goes, just try to cut out the bad bits and concentrate on the good bits. If you are new to food control then I would recommend following the Weight Watchers plan until you get used to food and its contents. Not everything that is perceived as healthy really is healthy. You'd be surprised at how often people are shocked when they hear stats. Slimming World and Weight Watchers are great, but as a man with a lot to lose then my advice would be Weight Watchers as men can get away with murder on it. I would find myself often trying to use up my points, and I only have (had) 2 stone to lose. It's user-friendly too. It would help to go to class but if there are obstacles in the way of that then folks here can help, but for a 'newbie' the benefit is in going to class.

and am at Slimming World but finding it tough going. It's partly cos I'm getting a bit bored, partly because some of their staples (dairylea light, nimble, anyhting with artificial sweeteners in) I really don't like, and partly because I seem to lack the time to plan meals that are varied enough. I am a bit of a Jamie Oliver babe, liking lots of olive oil and rustic bread and 'proper' food if you see what I mean, I'm a veggie too. I also tend to grab food when I'm stressed which is a lot of the time. I weigh in every week but can't stay for group because of the babies, I don't think that helps!

..... ness why are you finding it tough? The motivation? The planning? And do you go for the magical brand, the thing that makes anything possible.... Quorn? Without wanting to sound like an advert for WW tonight, bread is far less of a taboo subject on that plan, but women get a rough deal with points allowances.

Hello everyone, sorry for the distance between posts... I'm an extremely busy little ajaxgeezer these days, and have taken to unhealthy snacks/meals on the go to get me through last and this week, and then I'm going away from Friday to Monday. The scales await with a tremble, I'm sure. Will weigh in Weds and try to post again before Friday. Loves you all!!!!

Oh beanie 2ntiuew.gif I hope you get your trike soon then there'll be no stopping you!! It was through someones advice the other week, unfortunately I can't remember who, to build up slowly, by running so many steps and then walking so many. I decided to give it a go, but decided not to mention it here just in case I didn't manage it. At first it was as if I had steel bands across my knees, but I kept on and now I can go quite a way. Yesterday I took my mother out with her wheelchair, and after she had had a walk holding onto the chair for support, I strapped her in it and ran whilst pushing her. She was gripping the chair as if her life depended on it :rotfl:...

...vickyj Well done on your losses :j :j keep it up. Don't worry, I haven't had anyone notice that I've lost weight either :o . MrP and DD have made passing comments, nothing of any consequence, but that doesn't really count does it? ...

Sunday lunch was great! SW salmon and smoked mackerel pate, beef olives stuffed with vegetables, pineapple and dates with a mango coulis. Not completely syn free but pretty close to it.

Oh, and then there was cheese (actually before pudding cos the visitors are just a little bit Frenchish) And, sadly, home made tomato bread. And very sadly champagne and rather a lot of sauvignon. I nearly forgot - ice cream chocolates. So it was a bit of a disaster overall but delish. The scales will tell all.:o

(But I didn't have any cream or pre lunch nibbles so it could have been worse. And at least I'll know why when I haven't lost on Wednesday)
