... that's because they are a healthy extra due to their fibre content, and most of the fibre is in the skins. Hence, you need the skins.

As A1969 (who is still not forgiven for not giving me her MCR ticket) said, you can do whatever you like with potatoes on a green day, and have as many as you like.

Sorry to burst in on BB's baby, but variety is the spice of life, right? On a typical green day I would have two Weetabix (HEb) with milk from HEa allowance for breakfast, maybe with a banana or strawberries. For a mid morning snack I'd have a banana and an orange. Lunch would be a huge bowl of couscous accompanying a tin of tomatoes, 2 quorn fillets, a large chopped onion, peppers and chilis. Mid afternoon snack would be two more pieces of fruit. Evening meal might be 3 quorn sausages, two fried eggs, syn-free chips and a tin of beans or spaghetti. Then just before bed 2 slices of wholemeal toast (HEb) with Laughing Cow light cheese (HEa) spread over them. The rest of the milk allowance would go to 6 or 7 mugs of coffee during the day. All of that lot is completely syn-free, so there's space for a glass or two of wine as well, if the mood dictates (and it often does :D ).

thank you so much for the ideas.
OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH MY GOD!!!!!wow, i dont think i have ever eaten that much in my life.
i will probably stick to green days as i dont really eat alot of meat normally.

... all the basic ones are free. It's just the ones with "bits " in like apple pie flavour etc which are synned. Morrisons, Tesco and Aldi also do the same style yogurts too, which are free (and cheaper)!! (said the veggie trying to get people off Muller Lite so that Muller's sales are hit, therefore they stop using gelatine in their darned yogs after months of people voting with their wallets)

i have been on atkins for over 3yrs now.. i have lost all my weight and maintain quite happily... by the way its not all about meat for the doubters and there are low carb vegetarians around too....u can have more then one cup of veg a day and u are encouraged to get most of your carbs from veg

i make low carb bread and toast it and also low carb cakes occasionally.,. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=544137&highlight=atkins
lowcarbfriends is a good site with recipes but it is american so u have to convert

i can honestly say i dont find it anymore expensive then before i was on atkins.. i cook the same for me as the rest of the family i just dont have the high carb items and replace them with more veg eg green beans with bolognese, white cabbage coleslaw with salad, mushrooms and beans with currys.. cubes of swede and turnip in stews. apparently mashed cauli is good to replace for mash but personally cant stand it lol

will prob remember more stuff later lol x

    You absolutely can!

As a really really greedy person I do find I have to be a little bit careful. I have found that if I eat so much that it hurts to bend in the middle weight loss is less than if I stop when I am just extremely full.

Two giant potatoes made into SW chips, a 2 egg omelette with 28g parmesan cheese, roasted onion and I can't begin to tell you how many other vegetables ..... then a load of fruit and yogurt for pudding. That would be a typical green dinner. I'd draw the line at three giant potatoes. (But then again ... maybe .....)
