Delly, I've eaten falafels in a restaurant a few times before. I like them but they can be a little dry sometimes so plan something to dip them in or something moist to go with them in case - keep meaning to try making them if you want to share the recipe :D;)

Lost 1.5lbs this week. Reasonably pleased with that but still 2 lbs off the October challange which means I might not make it this time :(. However, decided to update my list of targets...

    1. Lose 2lbs to achieve October Challenge and a weight loss of 1/3 of my original body weight!
    2. Lose 2.4 lbs to achieve a weight loss of 40kg
    3. Lose 3.5 lbs to get a healthy BMI of 25
    4. Lose 5.5 lbs to get to a weight loss of 6 and a half stone.

I really feel like I am getting there now...

Yae, well done Efrieze, you really are doing a fab job!:T Hope those targets will help keep you motivated.

To be honest, you're all putting me to shame at the mo. Finding it hard with everything going on, but my situation isn't suddenly going to change so just need to get on with it. Can i have a kick up the a*** please? If I could just get past the 12 stone mark I think it would be a real boost, finally getting me out of this lose a few pounds, put on a few cycle I've been in forever!! Am going to make this my priority this week and see what happens...

As for falafels, I think they're yummy! They are quite a dry food as was said so they go great with houmous, pitta and salad for example. I think I have a recipe too so I'll have a look - not tried it yet so maybe I'll put them on my menu plan this week; thanks Delly!

Well done for maintaining too Delly, it's v easy to go off the rails when something like this happens. I've been climbing that mountain for ages too :D but for different reasons. My lifetime ambition was to climb Everest. Since I've been ill I've had to come to terms with many, many things, one of these being that I had to let that dream go. Earlier this year I read Bear Grylls book of his ascent of Everest and the parallels between his journey up the mountain and mine through my illness were astonishing. Since then I have thought of M.E. as My Everest, and I am determined to reach that summit!

Sorry for digressing...off to plan my week's food and exercise:D

  • newlywed. I've posted the recipie for the falafels on the recipies thread. The link is here. I hope your heating gets fixed this afternoon.

efrieze::j :j :j :j well done for getting over that 6 stone mark! I bet you look fabulous. Any chance of showing us your before & afters?

bails - don't worry, you'll get back on track soon. I think sometimes you have to make allowances for your limitations and try to adapt your plan to them - I find that menu planning definitely takes a whole lot of effort out of losing weight. I sometimes go so far as to plan breakfast/lunch and dinner plus snacks for the whole week. With that sorted out and the shopping done, I really don't have any excuse to think about food and have to find something else to occupy myself.

Speaking of that, I must go off and get ready to go out. I'm planning on spending an afternoon of window shopping/retail therapy.
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.

Petrichor - I think it's time you wrote a list of what's in your freezers and did a bit of this: not-tagged-smiley-13620.gif Looking forward to seeing your menu plan in the next couple of days for some ideas.

I have to admit,:o in my most organised times, I actually list what's in my freezer and stick the list on the outside of it, crossing off each item as I take it out and use it! ....really sad, I know!

Ok, another question. Has anyone ever eaten falafels? I've found a recipie for them in my MiL's 123 success cookbook and it looks quite interesting, especially as a packed lunch option....

:rotfl: :rotfl: Well aren't you just a bossy little Madam today :rotfl: :rotfl: at first I could've fainted at the thought then realised that it would be a verrrrry sensible thing :j :j so I'll put it on my list to do :rotfl: :rotfl: The list now stands as follows:-
    1) Do trousers
    2) Do freezer list
    3) Do menu plan

I love falafals, I had some a few weeks ago, they were oven baked and served with a spicey Moroccan vegetable sauce, they were really nice, and any healthy recipe would be appreciated...

...Well done efrieze :j :j I think those list of targets are a really good idea, there's always something to give a sense of achievement :T...

...Bails Do you still have 1zpmxix.gifstaying with you? It is hard to let your dreams go, but you have to if you want to move on, otherwise you would just live regretting things. (I do not practice what I preach:o ) Please post your menu plan too, it might help me to do one, I've just been doing stuff for the family, and not bothering about myself, and DD has noticed that they haven't been having healthy meals. I think I could do with a kick up the backside too:D ...

    Hi Petrichor

I love that witch!!:rotfl:The thing is, she wasn't even staying with us, just harrassing us from afar! OH is meeting up with her tomorrow night to 'discuss' everything so he's well stressed, bless him.

I'm just trying to get on top of the household stuff at the mo but will try to sit down and plan my week today, ready for tomorrow. I'm expecting a gain...

I think those targets are great too, can only focus on one at mo though - come on the 12 stone mark!

Well done on the 1.5lbs this week efrieze! Almost 1/3 of your original body weight lost is an amazing achievement - respect to you! Good luck with your next targets :)

bails - sounds like an inspiring book, I may have to look that one up. I have a thing about mountains. Are/were you a keen climber? I've just started to think about doing climbing myself. Someday I would like to see Everest and other sights in that part of the world. Good luck this week, don't think you need that kick up the a*** as you've just said you're making it a priority!

    Have fun shopping dellybelly!

I have a confession to make, in all the excitement of reaching my goal yesterday, clearing out clothes, shopping for new etc - I skipped my workout! Double today now :D haha.

  I'm really fed up. Last week I spent all week pulling up my size 18 jeans cos they kept falling down. Thought great must be doing something right. Well I just decided to try on my size 16 Jeans (both pairs) they don't even meet in the middle by about 3 inchs. They must be sized wrong!!!

plus I'm really bored, I decided that as it was half term and playschool & the other groups I take Maddison to are shut I would try potty training. As a result I'm stuck at home with cbeebies blearing in my ears and I've lost my voice from constantly asking if she needs a wee! All the other mums had it easy with their kids & potty training mine has decided to do it in her knickers then stands still and crys screaming at me that her trousers are wet. Think its because she likes choosing which pair of knickers she wants to wear & if she keeps wetting herself the more knickers she can wear. Need to go into town but that will mean putting her back in a nappy cos I can't be doing with her weeing in her pushchair perhaps I'll give up with it and try again another time when she's more ready!! She keeps telling me though that she's a big girl and wants to wear her knickers and use the potty. :wall:

Sorry about the wingeing.. must go out before I go nuts its such a nice sunny day to go for a walk might feed the ducks while I'm out. If I give it to the ducks I can't eat it myself..
Life is like a box of chocs ..... i've got a soft centre but I ate the whole box.
