So the EU has a military force now?? Or did you mean, adding the money spent by each individual country that is a member of the EU together the figure would be????

Military force of all other EU nations.

You confuse the aggregation of defence costs with military capability
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

OK, I no longer doubt that Britain will leave the EU. The continuing uncertainty over the terms will continue to damage Britain AND the EU but the damage could be greater to Britain.
However when the deal is done in my opinion Britain will be much worse off out of the EU but that is the democratic choice of Britain.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

Uncertainty is the normal state of the world.

There seems to be plenty of evidence that euroland dysfunctionality is damaging the EU27 and the UK
There seems little evidence that brexit uncertainty is doing any harm to anyone.

Uncertainty, brexit, Trump and the US economy, numerous EU elections, China sabre rattling in the South China sea all make an interesting mix but no real evidence that it damages the world economy any more that 'usual'.

However when the deal is done in my opinion Britain will be much worse off out of the EU but that is the democratic choice of Britain.

The uneducated and unexplained 'opinion' of a long term totally committed and totally uncritical EUophile is always welcome but seldom convincing.

Worse off in what respect? Certainly not the economy where the UK isn't trapped in the straitjacket of a currency that benefits Germany at the cost of high unemployment and lack of economic growth in most of its members. On just about every measure, the UK has outperformed the EU since the economic crisis.

Nor being subject to the diktats of an undemocratic, unelected and corrupt elite who cannot be voted out.

How exactly will we be worse off?

Bavaria has recognised the very real potential damage to their own local economy. If politics overrules common sense on the EU's side.

Not at all. It's a huge oversimplification; we waste a huge amount of money that doesn't translate into military capability (aircraft carriers with no aircraft, for instance).

On that particular topic, it's a myth.

The Queen Elizabeth will have 24 F-35B's operating on it in 2018.

And yet the BBC continue to imply this will not be the case, whilst even I can only assume inadvertently admitting that the UK Defence Journal is indeed correct further down the BBC article.

Yet the Ministry of Defence agrees that US Marine F35 aircraft will be using the British ship from 2018 onwards.

Don't you just love the BBC.

Yeah. Queues at food banks, national debt in the trillions. at odds with our allies in Europe, £7bn of aircraft carriers filled with American planes to go and bomb America's enemies. The Royals, the Daily Mail, baby George biscuit tins, the Tories... Its a fantastic time in Brexit Britain.

Are you confusing the EU with NATO? Some eu states are neutral, so presumably are irrelevant to your calculation.

We haven't left NATO. Some states like USA, Canada, Norway, Iceland are in NATO but not the eu.
