Paris Metro ticket - possible proof of an affair

Sorry this is a tough time for you.
Who's bag was it? I am presuming it is not a lady's bag but an overnight thinggy that you will use yourself.
I know it's not that simple to just say hey it's over. But honestly if you do not trust him now, you never will.
Get your ducks in a row, have a running away fund put by just in case, and then figure it out.
I think the answer is the one you know really. Unless this is the plot for a book or something.
Tough is an understatement. All the old crawling panic is back.
It's his bag, and one he used for business trips, until I bought him another. His mum always borrows his/our luggage, and could easily have used this one, but I don't know for sure
LOL! I may as well be single for ever then - I don't think I will ever trust anyone 100% again. The last one did a great deal of damage, and it took me a long time to come to terms with it. The depth of the lies, the fact it was a friend of ours, and the fact that all of our social circle knew and didn't say anything, was a real killer for me. I lost everyone.
Yes, I'm in a position to leave - I've always had a 'just in case' fund.
I'd give anything for it to be the plot for a book.0 -

Think you need to end it now. you don't trust him no matter what he says.
I was engaged to be married and he cheated on me with someone who all his mates had had. Yes I was very hurt. But I gave it time. And then got on with my life.
You need to leave and start to repair your life and maybe seek counseling for the trust issues you have. As you will never had a trusting relationship again.
Yours
Calley
Same situation as me, first time around.
The thing is that I have no concrete proof, and this is a man who worked hard to overcome my issues with me. Most of the time I'm fine and we have a really good relationship. It's just finding this ticket this evening that has thrown up real doubt again, and that's because it's Paris.0 -

According to this site (if you read French...): http://www.symbioz.net/index.php?id=58, the number you gave looks like the number of the machine that printed it, at manufacturing stage. It won't tell you anything you want to know.0

The serial number probably won't help but it might be possible to tell if/when the ticket was used. When you pass a metro ticket through the barriers, they will print something on it to show it has been used (the magnetic strip also gets affected, but this is visual proof to a ticket inspector that you went through the barriers properly).
The problem is that different stations have vastly different barrier set ups, depending on their age.
So some modern, clear ones will print the date and time of use very clearly, like so:

I assume it doesn't have that because you wouldn't be asking.
Some barriers just print a short code and it might be possible to work something out from this (maybe); equally it might just be the code for the station it was used at and not a date. ETA: turns out if clear these can be decoded to a date though not a year, eg "Friday in 1st week of March" which then may or may not match when in the year was the suspect business trip.

And other barriers just print an illegible splodge:

Printing can be in purple or black; I've never seen another colour.
On the other hand if there's nothing printed on it at all the ticket is likely unused.
Can you make anything out that looks like the above, or any other extra printing?
My images don't seem to work but follow the links.0 -
If you want a lie detector test try Jeremy Kyle.
When gut instinct and coincidence collide it's often confirmation that your gut instinct is probably right.
But not conclusively.0 -
The 'evidence' is probably irrelevant.
If you don't trust him - to the extent that you're asking these questions about a metro ticket that may or may not have been used by him; which you found in a bag which may or may not have been used by him - is this really the kind of relationship you want to be in?
If he saw this thread - where you explain how/why you don't trust him. To the extent that you're asking these questions about a metro ticket that may or may not have been used by him; which you found in a bag which may or may not have been used by him.
Would he ask himself "Is this really the kind of relationship you want to be in?"0 -

I was asking if anyone knew how to find out information from the serial number - I'm sorry, if that did not come across clearly.
Okay, but this is the marriage, relationships and families forum, not the decipher the metro ticket forum!
Do you think you could present it to him and read his expression correctly? I am sorry you're going through this and hope you get the answers you need.0 -
Or ask the mother in law if she's ever been to Paris?
It's okay to be suspicious but if you let it hang over your life for years, you have to decide if it's really worth it...0
