If it's me, I wasn't aware that I was rude at all.
To be honest, how many people come on a forum and read all the stickies and rules? Most just start posting, especially on these type of forums, a lot of us are not well with certain things that makes heavy reading quite difficult too.
This forum looks very similar to an old forum I used to belong to, works in a very similar way. I had no idea about discussion time, but even now knowing about it, I cannot find it at all at the bottom of the page.
I have to say though, I've never understood when people get annoyed when things are not in the exact right place, especially something like this that is relevant to most of us.
I totally agree with you Ev8. It wasn't you who was rude...but in trying to deal with it now someone else has come on and spoken very patronisingly about newbies. It is very often even more difficult for people with long term health problems and disabilities than the average person to navigate these forums exactly for the reasons you said. I'm a member of many forums and I find this one often unfriendly and unappreciative of the difficulties of navigating this forum..."First they came for the Socialists..."0 -
Er, the reason they are on ESA in the first place is because they have passed the WCA (i.e. too ill to work). .“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” --Upton Sinclair0

It is to the ESA Work Group, who are supposed to be able to work at some point in the future. The point I was trying to make is that a £30 cut to new claimants could deter them from looking for work in case the job doesn't last and they have to sign on at the new lower rate rate.
Ah, I get the point you're making now that you've clarified it. But the ESA WRAG was just an artificial invention to drop people from disability benefits. As the Green Paper on Work&Health shows, they will be coming for people in the Support Group next.It was never about helping people into work, and always about ideology and removing 1 million people from disability benefits.

No, I know there are other sub categories of the forum for different things, but for the benefits part, I thought this was it. I still have no idea what the arms is/are.0 -

Me neither Ev8. I am well aware that there are many other forums on MSE. But in most other forums of this size...moderators will move the thread to the appropriate place instead of expecting everyone know the exact place for it. As far as I know this is the place to post benefits information or questions and until somebody explains to me why it shouldn't be here or posts a link to where it should go I shall carry on posting stuff to help people who are claiming disability and other benefits. That is paramount as this is where I imagine claimants will be looking for information."First they came for the Socialists..."0 -
threads do get moved, but this isn't always a good thing.
sometimes a thread will go off topic and get moved when the original query ( and answers) contain information that may be helpful to others.
'discussion times' is the very last forum on the 'forum jump' list which is at the top on the right0 -
Thanks nannytone. It's actually on the bottom right of mine. But I can't for the life of me see why something about benefits would be moved out of the benefits forum! So anything about benefits I will post in the benefits forum. That seems logical!!"First they came for the Socialists..."0

Yes, me too, I thought anything benefits related would be in the benefits section, not a general discussion area.0
