    Evening,

Been out to football training, well wrapped up, we were quite cosy actually. DS showered and both in bed now.

Going to finish my homework! Go me!

It's never-ending, isn't it? - you get one thing done and ten more come along to be added to the list

Every day I know exactly what I want to do, and I then spend the whole day desperately trying to get through all of the assorted carp jobs that float my way through the post, the phone and emails - to say nothing of verbally, whether from OH or visitors - so that I can get to that day's task. Some days I just end up with more to do than I started with, and that day's task untouched. I long for the day when I can get that day's task done first.

I hope you're still enjoying being the site manager Dizzy. It sounds as though there's a huge amount going on even if half the workforce is hors de combat.

The sourdough baking day didn't go to the original plan, but it did go. I came home with four different baked loaves and the final loaf has another 20 minutes or so to go in the oven. It was a fantastic day's course and it's *fabulous* bread. The sourdough baguette knocks spots off anything I've ever been able to buy in the UK and it's up there with the best of the French ones I've had. Not an ordinary thing at all.

Carpet sucking, laundry shuffling and tidying finished up ready for fridge/freezer thing's arrival tomorrow. Fingers crossed the delivery goes smoothly, it's by no means guaranteed it will.
    Better is good enough.

    Yoohoo ladies

Just sat down after another busy day. Flying-wise....well the WM and TD are both on, I've wiped down the undercounter fridge currently living in the playroom and folded a box of socks, but that's about it.

I've had to deal with the loss of electricity to the garage caused by a severed overhead cable (happened on Tuesday) which meant the new freezer - packed to the gunnels with meat and soft fruit - has been off for two days  Quick check inside to survey losses, but looks like the 48 hour safety do-dah thingumy-bob worked. Builders have offered to cover costs of any spoilt food. Rigged up a temporary power supply feed and will keep an eye on it.

Raged at the caravan people after they tried to say the ground was too soft to cross with their lorry. As they are two weeks late delivering it, with us lot + pets being stuck on the dust-covered first floor during that fortnight and the fact that I have already paid for the tin shack, you can imagine how well that information was received. The caravan will be on site tomorrow.

Loads of other stuff, but would be monstrously boring for you all to read...

Hugs all round. Hoping to watch The Blacklist in a mo, but the bloomin' internet keeps dropping out
  • Just checking in quickly - yet another madly busy day here. Keeping on top of the basics if not much else. Thanks for the good wishes about hubby, scan tomorrow afternoon but we probably won't find out much there and then. Ready for bed, catch up tomorrow x

Evening guys, just checking in before I go to bed. Afraid I didn't do any flying today and the cleaner didn't come round as she wasn't well.. So I had a day off cleaning too after falling over at therapy yesterday morning and jarring my back.

Had a quick and cold trip up the crematorium to place some flowers at mums rose bush, it's 10 years today - can't believe it has been that long. It really doesn't seem that possible.

Don't forget, those that are doing the card swap to let me know if you have received my message/email letting you have the names. I am still not sure if you have all received the emails yet and I will only panic..you know me..

Just about to empty the washing machine then bed for me. Up early tomorrow for therapy..ugh!!!!

Hugs and spoons to everyone xxx

Morning everyone. Not much done here this morning and I'm about to start the paid stuff. I have only been cutting up dog treats ready to reward Poppet, and washed the breakfast dishes.

    Have a great day everyone.

Kelpie's been trotted around the block twice, I've moved the car, bought milk for the delivery men, shuffled laundry and tidied up. I'm still diddling around with OH's wardrobe while he's away. If my latest idea doesn't work I'm completely stumped on what's causing the pong.
    Better is good enough.
  • I've been lurking this week, been crazy busy and minimal flying done I'm afraid! Washing basket is building up again but saving that for tomorrow after sports kit has been worn (by me and OH).

Had a boiler service this week, needs £200 of repairs but should hopefully keep it going for another five years so don't mind that! Also had a leak fixed under the bath so the house jobs are slowly getting done.

Will be attacking the list either tomorrow afternoon or Sunday morning to try and maintain the level of moderate cleanliness we have in the house at the moment!! Biggest issue is mud coming in on the dog, he's too big to give a 'quick bath' to, so it mostly involves waiting for him to dry off, then sweeping up the dried mud from wherever it lands :rotfl:

    hi and waves to all.
Like many of us, I've had a crazy week work-wise which continues till Christmas.
Today, with more than half of it done by Mr N:
    - 1 load washing done, hung out, brought in
    - 1 load through DW
    - 1 gym class attended (with thanks to FBO for giving me a kick)
    - 1 large hazel tree pruned and the sticks cut into suitable sizes for use as pea supports next spring. Large stick used to re-stake enormous standard fuchsia which is still laden with blooms
    - 8 verbenas grown from seed planted out; their siblings were planted ages ago but these were waiting for a space.
    - loads of leaves swept up
    - 1 urgent work email compiled and sent
    - Water board rung to see why our shower hasn't been fixed yet after they blew it up
    - shops dropped into for rubbish bags and bread
    - programme printed off for Hertford Christmas Fair so after a cup of tea that is where we will be heading.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
