  • Hi all

    Happy Birthday dms!

Well done on the Black Friday avoiding. DH and I have been bemused by some of the e-mails. Did a Li*l shop, £44.56 which should - if I am really careful - last the week. DH was admiring a Christmas snowglobe in Li*l which he tells me is very similar to one he had when he was little so I will pop back in and get it for him. Along with a nice thermal top and some sweets that is him sorted for Xmas.

Done really well with my hours on job no. 2 this week. I have really felt those extra hours though!

I nearly sercumed to Black Friday! I managed to put two dress and a skirt in my basket and then logged off!!! I did get one gift from B & M so happy with my discount - it was a planned spend.

Thrilled I've won £10 total on the Totalcashback hummingbird comp!

I only managed to get half my list done today, I'm exhausted so I think I did well. I stopped at Costa today and got a free mince pie and latte with my points. Always tastes nicer when it's free.

Away for the weekend now so I might be a bit quiet. Take care all, LP x

  • Morning Everyone! Hope everyone is well. Up early so may as well start planning for the day;

    Today's list;

^ Eat a healthy yummy breakfast using up avodcardos and other fresh bits I keep forgetting about
^ Ready Break with a little chocolate for the little ones
^ Make riscotto with leftover ingredients in fridge for Lunch. Scoot around in kitchen for something for tea without buying anything else :)
^ little ones want photo taken with paw patrol today £6 ish. Will have both in same picture to save money and walk to and from town to save pennies
^ Write out list of xmas presents brought so far & plan else to buy. I didn't to any shopping on Black Friday, everything I've been looking at was discounted more beforehand, prices went up for Black Friday :-|

Morning all, my, that WAS an early start 1LL, don't overdo it today!
Nice to 'see' you Jojo :)

I was up at 6 and the dog had made a mess :( And I stepped in it and spread it everywhere, so have had to wash floors and slippers  NOT a good start to the day :(

Anyway, sitting here with a coffee now, so I think I will start again!
Busy morning coming up, as GD1 is arriving at lunch time for the weekend. If anyone has any ideas on how best to entertain a moody almost 14 year old, I would be delighted to hear them :rotfl:

    This morning I need to:
Stewed freezer fruit, which was homegrown and therefore free, instead of bought fruit for breakfast
Sort out washing dried outside yesterday.
    Clean bathroom
Whizz round spare room and tidy where needed
Print out labels for ebay sales
    Go to post office
Pop into supermarket for some bread and a few other bits - will take a list!

DS will arrive with GD at around lunchtime, so I need to get these bits done before that. Bits for lunch, but will probably get a takeaway tonight as a treat for GD.

Right, more coffee, breakfast and get on!!

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Morning Small Thingalings

I have an event on at work both days this weekend so won't be back till late tonight. I really hope it's worthwhile financially, I have huge reservations. But as I have already paid for stock to trade with I will have to jump in and see.

Won't get chance to spend any money so hopefully two in a row for NSDs.

  • Morning frugal pals. First time on in a few days, just too busy to get on, but also means to busy to spend in the main :) I too refrained from the whole commercialism of Black Friday. We did buy a matress yesterday but just because it was the first chance we'd both had chance to look. I do realise today that's made us part of the statistics. Damn :rotfl:

    Today:
Banana cake in BM using manky bananas and one from freezer
    Check banking, surveys and FPL
Keep knitting, have managed to get past neck opening :D
DD to two clubs each, both prepaid
Check if DD needs anything for nursery Christmas party tomorrow
    Left over jackets from lunch
    Something from freezer for tea
Check fridge and freeze what won't get used
Meal plan for week ahead, don't need meat maybe just a few veggies
    Washing on airer

    Enjoy your day folks. PF.
  • Morning :) Foxgloves sorry to hear you are going through such worried times. Thinking of you x

So annoying just typed out my post and lost it! Damn we seem to be hormoraging money at the moment, my spending diary hasn't been updated in our a week despite spending loads of cash, which is making me feel uneasy. We've got a problem with our electrics and need an electrician to come out and now our washing machine is broken :( need to decide whether to get it repaired or just get another 2nd hand one locally....)

There are national events going on supporting the nhs today which I will go along and help out for a few hours. It's earlier and longer than I thought so think I'll get ready in a minute and go earlier than I had originally planned.

While in town will pick up a couple of Xmas presents

Will have to do some hand washing

All meals from stores. Something out of freezer for dinner tomorrow

Make some french bread. Eat hm hummus wrap for lunch mm mm making hummus with a food processor compared to hand is just water to wine! So happy with this gift!

Need to do some work not sure if I'll manage it today.

Out this evening for a friend's surprise 40th , need to pick up a card.

That'll do! Have a great day guys x

    Morning all

Thinking of Foxgloves, Maria, katy-ann and everyone who needs good vibes

Dawn - nooooooooo! Feel very sorry for you!

Been off grid for a couple of days as I've been over to Leeds to see my friend and then we went to the Knit and stitch show in Harrogate. Didn't spend too much. I bought a pair of earrings to make (£1.50), a stamp for making Christmas cards (very pretty), an magical brush thing that will finally get all the hair and dust out of my rugs (I'm soooo cool) :o and a magical thing to tie perfect bows. Which is AMAZING. My friend and I were MSE as it was a small one for £15, large £20 or a twin pack for £25 so we bought the twin pack and took one each! (plus 3 free rolls of ribbon).

Managed to eat fairly cheaply by getting meal deals etc. Lots of lovely baby cuddles with my little honorary nephew. He's sooooo cute and funny <3

So back to normal today. The mission:
    • B/D from stores. Not sure what dinner is yet... maybe risotto
    • OH out all day at the gym. they are going to climb Mount Everest in rope climbs today for MacMillan. I am not very good at rope climbs and have contributed half a climb this morning :D- went back at lunch time. total contribution 1.5 climbs!
    • Gym class at 7am!! (making the most of my monthly payment) - went
    • Heating will be on as it's FREEZING here.
    • Don't know if I'm going to OH's gig tonight. Would like to but have no confirmed pals going so will probably have to give it a miss. - unlikely. Looks like DVD and crochet for me :)
    • Charge phone in work
    • Make some bread?
    • Lamb out for tomorrow
    • No drinkies
    • Check if I have enough bits for OH's advent calendar. It's a mix of miniatures, mini smellies, choccies and some more *ahem* adult items. Guy at the supermarket checkout looked a bit wry as they all went through.
    • Get OH to strip the bed. Re-make later.
    • Bit of rug dusting (ooo errr!) sad to say I'm a bit excited by this
    • Tidy round
Will add more if I think of it

    Have a good one all

    Morning (again!)
I'm feeling ok at the minute but don't think I'll manage much on only 3 1/2hrs sleep!
Not exactly sure of our plans for the day now as oh has changed what he is doing workwise.

    Todays plan may consist of
 Ys toasted muffins for breakfast :)
 If my dad comes over I'll ask him to help me get things out of the loft, I think I might have an old laundry bin up there, if I do then we'll put that into one of the kids bedrooms. :(Not there must have gumtree'd it when clearing out a couple of yrs ago, no worries though, I won't be buying another it was just if we had it. As up there will pull xmas decx/trees down into the spare room as my niece was on about buying new baubles and I know we've got a box up there of ones we don't use anymore, so it would clear out some stuff from here and save them from spending. :)
 Pick up library books for kiddos :)well my dad is going anyway so he;s going to get them for me. :)
 Run the washing machine on the quick 30 degree wash :)
 Try to stop dh from switching the heating on for as long as possible! :)

My brain is fried, will add more later.

    Have a good day all.
  Bagged up 3 bags of leaves of the drive ready to go in the garden waste collection this week :) Still loads more out there but just did a bit whilst the kids out there on their bikes for a bit.
:wave: Dh trying to get the printer to print off a photo of kids to go in a photo xmas card - current score printer 1- dh 0 :pDh persevered and printed the 3 pictures for cards and another 3 pictures to go in a picture frame that's been hanging there empty since we did the refurb in August!! :T:T
:wave: Came across a coloured candle on one of my shower room shelves, it was there to add a bit of colour but decided its just clutter so brought it downstairs and we'll burn it once we've finished the current yankee candle we are lighting on a night :)
  Continuing the use up, I only had 3 potatoes, got 2 chicken burgers/2 beef hache steaks from musc1efood out of the freezer yesterday, we had this between 5 of us with a couple of cans of beans, also added a bit of a bbq sauce that we'd got as a freebie from mr T's at some point :)
  Had some cans of cider that my sis didn't like, I didn't like either so have used them to make [STRIKE]beer [/STRIKE] Cider traps for the slugs! :)
  Had shower, left hair to dry naturally and used some useup lotions and potions, another one that I'd chopped up finished today :)
  Edited my planned mr T delivery tomorrow, to spend as close to £60 as I could to make the most of a £9 off £60 voucher, got my shop to £60.01 :j :j This includes some meat for xmas day too :)
  Radiator shuffle done as I've decided to turn the heating on as its bloomin' cold!
  Rented a 99p film from the rainforest people using free NoRush credit :)
