I complained today and they said the complain wont be upheld because the department they need to talk to is closed. I have contacted the ombudsman.
I am very distress the reason i have online banking is because i cant go to branch because of disability. I am very stressed out. I have quite a bit of money in there and i always check it to make sure its correct.
When i asked how can i take my money out they said to go into branch and withdraw it out. I am not going to be walking around the streets with a lot of money.0 -
Interested in what sort of behaviour might cause this. Is it about things on your credit report, or about use/non-use of the account itself?0

What was the account activity prior to the letter?
If they sent the letter a month ago, it equals 30 days notice now for the loss of Internet banking. This may be why they've not upheld the complaint.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. My credit report is good there is nothing wrong. I use the accounts regularly to pay for stuff. I have a feeling that it is because i spend a lot of money on my debit cards. Because they have been blocking card payments for higher amounts. I also move money into the account to keep the account balance at £2000 and move it out when it goes over £2000.
Like a lot of people who have the accounts for interest and keep the balance at the level where you get interest.
Also i had to withdraw a large amount in branch because i was trying to pay to something instore and I think that might have triggered a review as it was around the same time0 -

The account was used like a normal account.
The letter says nothing about online banking being withdrawn, It just states bank account will be closed in 60 days.
The complaint was not upheld because the department they need to talk to was closed. I told them thats a stupid reason as they could ring the department tomorrow and investigate.0 -
Did they ask you about the large Withdrawal in branch at the time?
Large transactions seem to be a theme in other posts too.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. They asked what i needed the money for and i told them i needed to buy instore because you have blocked my card. I was on the phone to the person trying to get my card unblocked at the same time.
Yeah the banks don't want you to spend money. I pay by card so they can track where i buy stuff, i dont pay in or take out large amounts of cash because it can trigger money laundering. Everything in my accounts can be traced.
im not doing anything wrong but they dont like that i dont spend like a "normal person". I have never been overdrawn or incurred any fees either. So im not profitable for them.
Funny thing is they keep asking me to take out a mortgage the rare times i go into branch.0 -

Next time they ask you about this, tell them to stick their mortgages up their corporate a**holes.
This sounds like it may be yet another case of MLP.0 -
Probably, more constructive to use the 7 day switching service and jettison TSB ASAPNext time they ask you about this, tell them to stick their mortgages up their corporate a**holes.

Natwest closed my accounts and issued a 60 day notice and I was unable to use a switching service, which made a stressful situation even worse.0
