TSB deregistered my online banking

ANNOYED1

I got a letter telling me my banks accounts will be closed on 12th December. Was sent no letter telling me online banking will be closed before this. The letter has given me 60 days to find another bank.
Today i tried to log into my online banking and they have deregistered my online banking.
I use my online banking everyday. I cannot get to branch easily and find talking on telephone difficult due to disability. They have effectively cut of my only real means of managing my accounts.
I have classic enhance plus account which needs online banking for interest.
The department that i need to contact was closed and the advisor said that they are within their rights to deregister my online banking and not pay me the interest on my account. This cant be right.
I understand that on 12th December i will no longer be a customer of TSB but didnt expect them to behave like this.
Any help appreciated. This is causing me alot of stress.

Have you still got the letter? Can you type it up/scan it (blanking personal details)?0 -
This is the only letter i have regarding account closure
" We are writing to let you know that following a review of your account we can no longer run a bank account for you. We will be closing your account on 12th December 2016.
Please make alternative banking arrangements immediately. We will stop making regular payments from your account on 12th December 2016 so if you don't make other arrangments you'll need to contact the people you want to pay.
We will issue a cheque with the closing credit balance on 12th December 2016.
Should you wish to discuss the matter further, please contact your account holding branch."
Its from the account closure unit team and person named is Sarah Docherty Operations Manager
I have not added my personal details. Letter is dated 13th october0 -
Hmm... possibly related to the TSB chopping interest rates?

This letter terminates the banking relationship (i.e. bans you from opening further bank accounts with them) so I doubt they'd issue that letter to close Classic Plus accounts because of interest (although Lloyds and co do seem to issue this letter for unprofitable customers).
Nothing you can do about the closure decision. This type of letter is not fraud related or anything. However when you log into internet banking does it just say it doesn't recognise the details, or does it log in but show a 'there's a problem' message (it does this if there's no open accounts)?
Another person who got this letter from TSB here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5427630
Lloyds have issued this letter plenty of times for others on here.0 -
It just says i am not registered for online banking.
I know they will close my account on the 12th and i dont care its not worth the hassle
But they have deregistered my online banking and have not given me notice of this. It says if they will not provide you with online banking anymore they will give 30days notice. They havent done this. My online banking has not been suspended they have just taken it away. I cant log on.
They are closing by accounts anyway what does it achieve by not allowing me online banking. It causes me more hassle.0 -
Scary if it's unprofitable customers. I have 2 of the Plus accounts and one regular saver... I'll probably get such a letter soon.Goals

Exactly.. so much hassle. And it would be easier for your to see direct debits and stuff if you could login... so you could make sure you can move to another bank.

Just open a new account with a new bank and use the 7 day switching service....although Lloyds and co do seem to issue this letter for unprofitable customers...TrustyOven wrote: »Scary if it's unprofitable customers...
Nope, not about being an unprofitable customer. The letters are issued to customers who fall outside of their risk appetite.0 -

Intersting.
How do you know this?
How can we find out / learn what TSBs risk appetite is so that we can gauge if we are going to get such a letter?Goals

Yes, you should be able to do this as the accounts won't be blocked.
You could try complaining and then go to the FOS if you're not satisfied with their decision to withdraw online banking without adhering to their terms and conditions.Nope, not about being an unprofitable customer. The letters are issued to customers who fall outside of their risk appetite.
That's it (if the media articles from the likes of HSBC and Natwest are anything to go by).0
