Dont forget you need another backup source.
I bought a 1TB drive to store all my photo's and approx 2 weeks later the new drive failed , under warranty but that wont get your photo's back.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Saying that, I've had a few SD cards fail on my recently. It's worth saying that if your SD card suddenly becomes unreadable, or blank - there are some fairly easy ways to recover the photos using free software.forgotmyname wrote: »Dont forget you need another backup source.

Says 25GB, have noticed a lot of photos are stored in my videos, not sure why but hopefully will drag them over to my pictures
So your photos would take up roughly one-tenth of a 250Gb drive, one-twentieth of a 500Gb, or one-fortieth of a 1Tb
I would suggest, unless you're planning on taking LOADS of photos very soon, much more than you have up to this point, that a 1Tb would be overkill for you.....0 -
Ok thanks googler. Checked my videos and its 23GB, don't know how photos got in there but I'll maybe try and copy/drag photos from my videos to my pictures. So your photos would take up roughly one-tenth of a 250Gb drive, one-twentieth of a 500Gb, or one-fortieth of a 1Tb

So my pictures are 25GB and my videos are 23GB, a 500GB hard drive would probably still be too much to buy??0 -
for £50 you can buy a portable hard disk and an assortment of flash drive/sd cards/dvd's for secondary backup, and use the hard disk to backup the internal hard disk instead of just photos and video's
Cloud backup will always be prone to issues of security, longevity, and possibly ongoing costDon't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -
You could happily back them up to one of these - https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-SDCZ50-Cruzer-Blade-Flash/dp/B00BX5FOCK/ref=sr_1_1?0

How long did it take for you to take 1000 photos?
If it took a week.. buy a 1tb hard disk. If it took a year buy yourself a smaller, cheaper memory stick0 -
