A very opinionated piece from someone that's only lived in the country for 18 years. Hardly surprising that Mrs May was irritated. As the writers sole intention seems to have been to rant with a pre-planned assault.

Interesting comment though, could she be looking to find a way around the referendum result?
She replied that she was a representative and not a “delegate” and was not obliged to be the voice of her constituent
'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher

Doubt it. I'd be concerned if a PM expressed a detailed personal view. As it's of no consequence. The issues faced are extremely complex and the solutions not easy to find.

The tone of the piece written can be summarised up by this quote.
Time was up. I finished by telling her there was a huge groundswell of opposition to Brexit. But I don’t think she’s listening.

Fortunately we still live in an open democracy. Where people can freely express their views. Some people forget what the cost was to achieve this though. Personally I never will.

Only lived in the country 18 years?

You do realise how long that is, right?

18 years, 53 years, 78 years...it will never be long enough for people like Thrugelmire. She's not 'from here'. End of.
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

Well, just a note for Thrugelmir then, that's 3 times the length of time it takes to gain British citizenship, in other words this is a British citizen, and therefore has the same rights as you and I.

Yes, 18 years. I know many people that live and work here yet still regard somewhere else as home. With many never fully integrating into the English way of life or culture. It's a complex area.

I'm not disputing rights. I can only repeat that these rights came at a price.

Maybe if people with your attitude weren't alienating those that choose to move here, there would be far more integration and far more people choosing to regard the UK as home.

I regarded the UK as home once, but certainly not now. What does that tell you?

Is that the right to question a Member of Parliament on whether she will act towards representing the views on her constituency and holding her to account locally if she doesn't?

Or does that not apply to rights of someone who's been here 18 years?
