Will Govt. win in Supreme Court?

Looks to me like she's responded to claims of 'you don't have a plan!' by saying 'oh yes we do and that's all I have to say on the matter'.
Has the government done anything else?
All that's in the news is 'Number 10 plays down....(insert whatever someone's said)', and that really isn't comforting for anyone to hear.💙💛 💔0 -

I should imagine if only one party stands on a Remain ticket that 48% Remain share will look pretty tasty.
Mmmm, that TM snap election is looking less likley'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
As MPs now voted to proceed with Brexit, does it now matter whether Govt wins in Supreme Court or not?Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0

As MPs now voted to proceed with Brexit, does it now matter whether Govt wins in Supreme Court or not?
No, because the vote that was held today was a non-binding motion and not a proper Act of Parliament.
If the Supreme Court upholds the High Court decision, an Act of parliament will be required.
The motion also called for the government to publish a plan for Brexit, so there is scope for the plan to get scrutinised before MPs will allow it to push the button.
I imagine the Act would go through without too much difficulty but it will still be needed.0 -
The May U turn does make the Supreme Court judgement a little less relevant.
Everyone knew the government were going to make a U turn - I just wished they'd done it before throwing a load of taxpayer money at it.0 -
Everyone knew the government were going to make a U turn .
I don't think you have ever made a real U-turn?
Politicians have a basic aim, and weave a course broadly tending towards that aim. If they are clever, they steer round any snags that appear, or alter course to bypass or sideline them.
May may or may not be successfully pursuing her objectives, but to use the word "u-turn" is simply to jump on a vogue expression without understanding what it means. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I don't understand what May is trying to achieve in with this case in the first place. Is she really so arrogant that she believes the eurosceptic Tories and the quitters are the only people who still have a voice about the future of our country?0

I call saying they won't allow parliament a say in whether the government should invoke A50 and then asking parliament that very question a U turn.
You might call it a skillful navigation of the obstacles or perhaps a pleasant diversion down a cul-de-sac. I'm cool with that.0
