I love that they feel the need to tell people not to install sockets literally inside the bath. Strongly suggests whoever drew up the image had met someone stupid enough to do so!Mortgage

Just shows how much expectations have changed
From 2000 to about 2010, I lived in various properties
1 - 7 bedroom, 2 bathroom
a few 4 bedrooms, with 1 bathroom (at least 1 had no sinks in bathroom - although think the shower and toilet was separate in it)
Our last 4 bed, had 1 "normal" bathroom and 1 en suite and at weekends there was often more than 4 people in this house, and we survived
None of us found it difficult0 -
Am I right in thinking that, as the bedrooms have vanity units fitted, the property is pre 1930s? If so, it must be big enough to squeeze another toilet in somewhere - even if it's under the stairs!
Or how about converting the smaller kitchen into a shower room/separate toilet?
Even if you rent it to a family instead, I suspect that a family in need of 4 bedrooms will expect at least a 2nd toilet.0 -

It isn't just expectations, it is practicalities. 40 or 50 years ago most people didn't shower every day so it wasn't too much of a problem. Now most people do. Even when I was at university 30 years ago I was the only one in my flat (all female) who showered every day so I had to pay more of the gas bill than the others.0 -

I'm talking about expectations 5 - 15 years ago - a time when people probably showered everyday!0 -

Surviving it doesn't make it desirable.
The price people pay for rental properties in a lot of places now i'm not surprised expectations have risen.0 -

I semi agree, but we are in a world where people expect more and more often due to thinking they deserve better.
Then when its given they then see that at basic and want even more.
Homes are becoming more like hermits caves.0 -
