    Same here. Good work, Tesco!

Still want to know what happened, and whether any of my personal data has been compromised

I've changed user name, password, security number and the 3 security questions. I'm not going to re-fill my 2 current accounts until more information is available as to what happened.

Got my £4.13 back:). No idea how big, or how many 'much larger' transactions that Tesco managed to stop were.

I won't be withdrawing my cash or making any other hasty decisions, but like you, I want to know what happened..

I'm one of the 20K who have not lost money but TB detected suspicious activity. Really concerned about the implications for my linked accounts with other banks. Received a text survey about fee paying accounts which is probbably a scam, but is it linked to TB breach?. Would appreciate information from TB as to what the 'snackers' actually have on me now.
Have changed some of my login security info.

Looks like I've been hit as well to the tune of £1600

Fortunately its just a holding account for me and I don't need access to the money. Didn't get a text yesterday, just got the one this morning at 5am about them stopping online transactions. Called the lost / stolen / suspected fraud number ( got through straight away) and they confirmed my account has been flagged and the fraud team will call me back in 48 hours!

I feel for those customers who have this as their main/only account and are likely to struggle over the next few days. More proof if it were needed that we all need to be protecting ourselves by having back up funds held in a second (or tenth) bank for situations like this.

My debit card for this account has never been used - its never even left the house!

Sounds like abit of a hit and miss for customers then. I think I am a lucky 'miss' this time round.

Seems like multiple current account set up is paying off now in times of uncertainty.

At this present time I'm not too concerned about ID theft. Based on what we know so far it all points to a failure at a Tesco Bank or a 3rd party on how they handled the card details, most probably a bad employee or contractor. The fact they are still allowing transactions with the PIN and online banking is still available suggests the fraudsters got: The card number, expiry date, name and cvv. They may also have the billing address but less likely. If the fraudsters had hacked the website then we would be seeing it taken down and access to savings accounts also restricted.

In order to turn the information into cash the fraudsters probably went on an online spending spree where they could buy things without knowing the PIN. Stuff like iTunes gift vouchers are a favorite as they can easily be exchanged for cash in online auction sites.

I do hope Tesco come clean and publish the full facts of this. It is bad enough to have been compromised but sweeping it under the carpet will not help get any customer confidence back. Will also be interesting to hear how they believe their controls are PCI DSS compliant as that set of standards is supposed to prevent precisely this kind of issue!

My money is back but my card won't work in ATMs. Does anyone know what the phone queues are like at the moment?

And my missing money has been refunded

I am still rather concerned how it escaped in the first place because I have never used my debit card for purchases or withdrawing money from a machine....... it has nothing to do with verification by Visa!

Now this has appeared on the website (shame it didn't appear earlier
    :)

Tesco Bank can confirm that, over the weekend, some of its customers’ current accounts have been subject to online criminal activity, in some cases resulting in money being withdrawn fraudulently.
We apologise for the worry and inconvenience that this has caused for customers, and can only stress that we are taking every step to protect our customers’ accounts. As a precautionary measure, we took the decision on Sunday 6 November 2016 to temporarily stop online transactions from current accounts. This will only affect current account customers. While online debit transactions will not be available, current account customers will still be able to use their cards for cash withdrawals, chip and pin payments, and all existing bill payments and direct debits will continue as normal. We are working hard to resume normal service on current accounts as soon as possible.
We can reassure customers that any financial loss as a result of this activity will be resolved fully by Tesco Bank. This afternoon we began the process of refunding all customer current accounts that have been subjected to online criminal activity and we expect this process to be completed by the end of tomorrow.
We continue to work with the authorities and regulators to address the fraud and will keep our customers informed through regular updates on our website, Twitter and Your Community.
If customers have any concerns at all, we would advise them to contact our customer service team who will be able to provide assistance

It is newsworthy if 20,000 people are missing £28 on the same day at the same bank

What I meant was that the amount I had "lost" was insignificant compared with some who "lost" £2K

Hopefully it has been refunded, or at least that process is well on its way

I phoned at 8.29 and have just finished (8.45)after having had conversations with two different departments.

My £6k is intact. The other issue seems to be with customers who have BT email addresses. I received four letters (four account) saying that email to my registered email address was undeliverable and to logon to change it. Chap I spoke to said it was a problem with only BT addresses so I've given him an alternative one.

Happy with the service and the agents.

EDIT - only was on hold for approx four minutes.
