India sets out 'initial' negotiation demands.
Yes?
Should we just give up at stage one of a negotiation, is it all too scary?0 -

I have spent a lot of time in that country. The only way you are going to make £1 out of India is to pay £2 doing so.
Can you let the Aussies know please.

As of FY2014-15, India was Australia’s tenth largest trading partner accounting for almost A$18 billion in two-way trade, or approaching three per cent of total Australian trade flows.0 -
That doesn't invalidate anything he says. I also assume there's a lot less emotional baggage between India and Australia as there is between India and the UK :j0

The Curry houses are not happy about lying BrexiteersBritain's £4 billion curry industry, which largely backed Brexit, says that it feels "angry" and "betrayed" by politicians in the wake of the vote.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0

Indians are well disposed toward the British on an individual personal level. But at a societal and governmental level they absolutely hate us.

OooopsCobra Beer Boss Lord Karan Bilimoria Blasts Theresa May’s ‘Illiterate’ Immigration Target, And Speaks Of ‘Appalling’ Post-Brexit Racism

Yeah I was going to link to the same thing. You have to be lenient with the Brexiteers though, they have precious little good news to talk about. By the standards of the day, he hasn't been beaten up or worse, and he's yet to leave, so that's a positive story.0 -
Watch todays Daily Politics on the link I gave, he asserts we have a deep relationship built on trust.0

Maybe you should actually read that link.
The majority of the trade accounts for commodities, predominantly gold (how much gold can we export to India, Conrad?), and education. I.e. Indian students studying at Australian universities and language schools and taking advantage of Aus's generous post study work visa.
As May has just ruled out any thawing in visa relations, especially for students, and Modi says the UK isnt getting in unless she does do, I think it's safe to say we aren't about to be exporting a great deal there.
But don't despair. I understand that Liam Fox is cooking up an absolutely wizard Brexit wheeze to ship kajillions of British Sterling Pounds worth of sand to the Arabs. He's insistent that they are queuing up to buy it.0
