Seems to be the way. When you request the PAC there is a genuine risk of losing you. Seems to focus their minds.
    Gonna give this a go.
Really don't know why the deals I'm being offered are just the same as what's on the website for new customers.
First time I've ever had this with EE
The best deals have always been with outbound retentions for some years now, particularly after having asked for your PAC. This isn't a recent change. The only change is that "upgrades" or  the standard "retentions" departments deals have become much worse than they were previously.

Well, live chat has normally resolved issues and the SMS upgrade service apparently is 'Retentions', which will be the standard one you're referring too. These have normally been okay, never been in the position where I've needed to actually get my PAC.

Once I've got the PAC via text, I'm assuming they'll call, or is it worth me trying another live chat etc?

I guess they are used to people haggling these days. Obviously if you ask for PAC it’s worth having somewhere to go to if they don’t offer anything, you may be able to let the PAC lapse (just check that you aren’t giving notice on a reasonable deal).

Yeah I looked into that. When you generate a PAC you have 30 days in which it's valid. After 30 days, if you haven't used it, it just expires and you carry on as you were. You'll need to generate a new one after that if you want to initiate a move again. - https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/managing-and-using-my-account/leaving-ee/what-is-a-pac-code

Currently running Voxi as a secondary SIM to test VF and that seems fine, so it'd be either Voxi or VF direct.

I'm considering a Lebara SIM only deal to replace my Three account which expires on 30 June. If I buy the SIM now will the charging start immediately or only when I activate the SIM on 29/30 June?

I'm pretty sure you can order a SIM and hold on to it and choose the package when you're ready to activate.

I've got the whole family on an old lebrara rolling contract for £7.99 a month.  Is there anyway, without having a break in service or changing to another supplier to then change back, that we can switch to the latest £5.99 deal?  I realise they currently have a reduction for the first six months on top of this for new customers, but I'd happily forgo that to get the new rate.

Have you tried asking them? The worst they can say is no. You might even be able to do it online?

Not yet no, just wondered if anyone else had tried really.

I contacted them.  Didn't get the new deal, but got a discount and more data (which I wanted anyway).  All-in-all I'm happy.
