Do all of the sim only companies allow tethering?
I am thinking of giving up broadband and just going with the cheapest unlimited data sim. I have a couple of old Huawei mobile routers.
I haven't found a list of providers that allow tethering but I'm pretty sure most companies will have given up trying to police "no tethering"!
3 allow tethering of multiple devices as long as it's non-commercial.

Probably not all ;)  But it's simple enough to check the T&Cs of the shortlist of those you are considering, surely?

Mobile Data Reception and speeds are the Big Issue you need to check, where you live, though.  Lebara allow tethering but Speedtest tells me I get just between 1.5 and 2.5 Mbit/s where I live.  Three's 4G/5G home broadband system (with a router) isn't available to me either (similar speed/contention issues).

    YMMV.
  • I cannot connect to the Lebara website when i click on the name next to the pricing plan on the website, has anyone got a working link, please.
  • forget my last post just needed to sign in silly person.

If you find any that restrict or prohibit tethering in their T&C’s you should report them to OFCOM, the current OFCOM net neutrality rules specifically allow tethering.

5.2 In addition to Article 3(3) regarding traffic management, Ofcom was concerned about restrictions on ‘tethering’, which allows an end-user to share the internet connection of a phone or tablet with other devices such as laptops. Article 3(1) ensures end-users have the right to “use terminal equipment of their choice”.
The BEREC Guidelines make specific reference to ‘tethering’, stating that the practice of restricting tethering is likely to constitute a restriction on choice of terminal equipment, because ISPs “should not impose restrictions on the use of terminal equipment connecting to the network in addition to those imposed by manufacturers or distributors of terminal equipment in accordance with Union law”.

Only reference to tethering I've seen recently is when roaming and fair use (not an issue at the moment).
  • For a variety of reasons, I'm allocated 15GB of data with EE. Rarely do I use 4 max. When I go to my local EE shop, ideally I'd like to be able to quote for a SIM that they might wish to match. What I don't want is to change my number. Satisfied with EE, I think originally the offer with them was 10GB, but because we have home broadband with EE, they gave a 5GB boost.

Anyway, a monthly data allowance of 5GB adequate I think, free calls & texts. My phone is samsung Galaxy A70.

You can move network and keep your number - simply ask EE for your PAC

  • Just be sure to select unlimited data and the contract period. 3 for example every thing unlimited is about £18 pcm minus cash back

Hey everyone , hope this is the right place to post this.
Currently have a 3 pay monthly contract £52 p/m my minimum term will end on 31 May 2021.
I want to keep my phone , I’ve seen top cashback are offering £71.50 cashback for a 3 sim plan. £16 p/m for unlimited everything for 12 months. I want to go for this and end my current contract.
My question is when should I order this? Near the end of the month or now and activate the sim at the end of the month ? Thanks guys but confused with it all. Want to keep my existing  number as well
