Can I sign up for this challenge please. I have done this in the past but always end up breaking into the pot. Am hoping that this thread will keep me motivated to last the whole year.
Thank you

Ooo, just seen that a lot of people are joining in this penny a day challenge from the skint dad website (increasing the amount of saving by 1p a day for a year). Might print off a chart and make sure I meet the minimum payment each day as the total amount saved doing this is just over £670. Not sure if I'll manage £30 a week towards the end though....
Hope everyone's having a good Christmas/New Year x
I did this challenge last year but I started off backwards I stared with £3.65 on Jan 1st and then the Dec is only pennies. I also worked out how much it would be for the month and some days I put in less other days more so it still worked out the same by the end of the month. If you start with £3.65 Jan's total would be £108.50, Feb total £89.74 March - £90.22, April - £78.15, May - £71.30, June - £59.85, July - £52.39, Aug - £42.78, Sept - £32.25, Oct - £23.87, Nov, £13.95, Dec - £4.96 total for the year £667.96. Hope that helps :-):rotfl:Sealed Pot challenge no: Target £1000 :rotfl:

I read what I thought was a good suggestion for this. Write the amounts down (1p - £3.65) on separate pieces of paper and put in a tub. Evey day pull one out and that is the amount you put in for that day. In theory it should spread it out, unless you are unlucky and all pick all high ones at once!
I might try that method myself only I won't be putting in every day, but I could still pull 3 or 4 tickets each week.0 -

Lots of people saving £2 coins as MLE007 said its probably why you don't see many about.
Thank you to Sue for my number. I have updated my sig.
To help with this challenge I think I need to change my spending habits. I only use cash for the work canteen, everything else I pay with card I am going to have to start using cash more as to save change you actually need to use it in the first place :rotfl:
£30 potted today :j:j its my Christmas money that I spent on a new printer, decided to put it in the pot as I would have needed to buy new printer anyway as my old one was broken.
I have also made a decision that when my pot is opened I going to use half to help with Christmas and half to pay off extra for a loan I have. I really need to make a big effort with this as that is two expensive things I am now aiming for.
Happy new year to everyone, have a great time tonight and I will 'speak' to you all next year

Hi Seashell, welcome to the sealed pot challenge!!

Our lovely Sue will give you a number when she is next on, in the meantime you'll find all the things you'll ever need to know about the sealed pot challenge on the first page of this thread!
p.s Don't forget to put the November opening date in your diary so that you can declare your savings!
Good luck with your 2017 challenges!
p.s They are a lovely (and some what crazy) bunch on here, and I'm sure you'll feel very welcome and spurred on to pot!
I don't normally have time to keep up but I still keep potting, so whether you have loads of time or a little you'll be made welcome! :heart2: I generally come on here in the school holidays or when I'm procrastinating and putting off writing an assignment....both of which are true today lol!! :rotfl:
Aw thank you so much. I'm usually rubbish at this. I've always used a tin and ended up getting the tin opener out after a few weeks and opening it. I was given a terramundi pot for Christmas and it's so pretty I won't be able to smash it open lol :eek:xx0 -

Great work on the decluttering, Saver-upper! Never mind about the family not being thrilled about it, these things have to be done!
They'd soon moan if your lovely new home resembled a tip!
Well, I guess they would!
You've potted some amazing savings so let that console you!!!!
Many thanks for welcoming a new comer and returner, Vicky and mossy, a gold star for you both!! Thank you and a very safe, healthy and Happy New Year to you and hubby.
Don't worry Frogletina, we'll forgive you as generally you're always on good behaviour......aside from that my SIL is a Waterstones manager!! Best try and keep him in work especially as the managers are always being "threatened"! Thankfully their are still generations of book lovers, I just hope it lasts!
You're very welcome beach-holiday, I see you've made a great start!!
21p is still a saving, parksandrec, don't knock it as you may have a lot of those through the year which could add up to a fair amount!!
Put it this way, iammumtoone, I don't think there are many of us that don't save. They're just so beautiful we have to have them!! :grinheartDon't forget to rescue yours! Those are great ideas you have for what to do with your SPC money at the end of the year, great encouragement if ever it was needed!
There you go, MLE007, now you know how much you're capable of saving....keep your pot sealed and get more and more and....!! :j
You're the same as me, 32b3, we save every coin possible - why not!! I hope little kitty is ok now.
You wouldn't happen to be talking about any particular people I your post would you, Westie??! Nah thought not!! Brilliant savings btw!
A fantastic idea Onmyway2!! We had several join it last year and all of them saved no end as a result. Don't forget that all you manage to save from it can be included in your SPC Total in November, with any other changes on the challenges board too! Save hard!!
Thank you so much, mossy, I had the op yesterday but still have only very minimal moment! I'm quite disappointed but I have Physio from Tuesday onwards so I'm hoping that'll help things along.
That's quite substantial potting with the 1p a day challenge, Tizzi!!
Very many best wishes, SPCers, for a very safe, healthy and Happy New Year!!!! :beer:A potty one too! :j

Hello Sue
I haven't really logged into the site last year, but did continue the challenge. Hopefully it's on my signature now. Is there any chance of joining this year's challenge? I understand I've probably lost my original SPC No.
