    Hi Everyone :hello:
I'd like to join the gang if you'll have me? I already have my sealed pot (tin) and have added a few pennies just to get started. I've also subscribed to the thread so I don't lose you and I get regular reminders!

Hi all, would love to join too, I have been saving £2 and 50p and plastic fivers for about a month now in a sealed pot but didn't know about this thread. I already do surveys throughout the year to pay for Christmas so this would be a nice little added extra :D

    Hi,
    .
Please could I join this challenge. I would like to save £250 by November
    Hi All

    Please can I join

I am starting with an old tea tin which I have just put £1 in :D Next time I am in £land I will get a sealed tin to transfer everything. My pot needs to be very well sealed (ie manufactured) otherwise I don't trust myself to dip into it :o

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, and wish everyone a Happy New Year.
Over the last few day,We have been having a huge declutter of the house-I love this time of year for decluttering :j.Of course, everyone else in the house winges about it,and makes jobs last longer than they need to...Eg,today was day three of decluttering 10- and nearly 8yo daughters' bedroom.Today, all I wanted them to do was sort out 4 Trofast buckets (similar to :
    http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/childrens-ikea-products/children-3-7/childrens-storage-furniture/trofast-storage-combination-with-boxes-white-black-spr-89181587/

They also both wanted to sort out all the stuffed toys on their beds.

Ask me how long it took.Go on,ask........

    FIVE HOURS!! :eek::eek:

Complete with fights over who was doing the most work, who owns what toys (therefore who should put it away),strike action by both, distraction by the toys they were meant to be putting away, chucking ,or donating.....

Whenever my kids winge about "I didn't make the mess/spill it/get it out/put it there",so "How come I've got to tidy it up/mop it up/put it back/bring it back here",I tell them "Ok,we can live like that for a week if you like, and see how it goes.I will cook only my meals, wash only my clothes, drive only myself to where I need to go for the day, bring only myself home, buy only my groceries......and we will see how that goes, shall we?" For some reason, which I can not fathom, nobody has taken me up on the offer as yet :D.

Anyway, part of my decluttering today will be £60 into my pots (will put £20 in each). This is all tips from my customers when I was finishing up for Christmas (have already mentioned the £5 I was tipped by my 88yo customer a few weeks ago).I am very lucky,to have a job I love, and such wonderful customers.

Not sure you will think I have done so well now as I've been late night shopping on Amazon - 2 CDs, 2 Books and a pair of sandals. But the sandals were half price and they are the only type I can wear and I've already worn previous ones out. Now I have two and a spare pair.

One CD contains the same album which a friend lent me on cassette when I was in hospital years ago, and I lost it. I finally tracked one down on Amazon, and I gave it him tonight so I decided I also wanted to have a copy for myself. It kept me sane when I really needed it.

The other CD has a track on which I used to listen to on youtube a lot which has been removed due to copyright issues.

Then I bought two books I've been wanting to buy. I know I have book tokens and a Waterstones token but they were much cheaper on Amazon even though on sale in book shops. But I will still buy books from bookshops as I would hate to lose them.

    Am I forgiven? :)

PS, all the money was budgeted in my entertainment and clothing accounts, if that helps!

Welcome donkids22. This is a GREAT place to be! Sue-UU, our esteemed leader/all round potting guru will be along later to give you a special saving number. In the meantime, get a cuppa and read the very helpful first post about what we're about.

In the meantime, Merry Christmas everyone. I've been potting steadily, in between bouts of being not too well. Ah well, THAT time of year, I suppose. :(
