Do most people on here save £2 coins? I think I might start doing.

I have one in my drawer at work will need to rescue it next week for the pot.

Oooh, yes I do. I save mine specifically for my road tax, so it goes into a separate pot.

Yes I do but can sometimes go ages without getting one as think a lot of people do the same! That's why I am potting 50p's too. I once did solely £2 coins in a small sealed pot like a baked bean sized can - got to about 3/4 full opened it and had £300 so it can build up!

    I potted a plastic fiver today :)

Yes I do - always have done, and that's what I use for the purpose of this challenge. We also have a giant Coke bottle which hubby and I both chuck change into but it's impossible to keep count so in about 5 years' time when we empty it it'll be a surprise :rotfl: I also include my Quidco payments, but this year I'm not keeping a running total so it'll definitely be a surprise at the end.

I am sooo glad to see the end of this week, its been beyond manic at work, people paying in bags on bags of coins, a trillion gazzillion cheques and dont forget the mixture of notes people pull out of handbags, coat pockets, christmas cards, you name it it came from it, some nice and tidy all in £100 demoninations, and the same value, then on the other hand you get the ones that chuck a wad of notes at you, in mixed denominations and then say 'I dont know how much is there' with the equal gormless expression haha....

I am looking forward to three days off,

On potting news, I have potted £80 into £1 coins, from my birthday money, (Im waiting for christmas money to clear, damn you Bank Holidays) so I think that is the most my little pot will hold but I will see what I can squeeze in...

Happy new year to you all and see you on the otherside....

Ooo, just seen that a lot of people are joining in this penny a day challenge from the skint dad website (increasing the amount of saving by 1p a day for a year). Might print off a chart and make sure I meet the minimum payment each day as the total amount saved doing this is just over £670. Not sure if I'll manage £30 a week towards the end though....

    Hope everyone's having a good Christmas/New Year x
