Just popped in to wish everyone a very happy Christmas. I can't believe the wonderful total achieved again this year. A big thank you to our own dear sue _uu for all the hard work and effort involved in keeping us all on track

I hope everyone has a happy and peaceful Christmas break.
Sue, I promise to try and pop in a bit more often after crimbo. I'm still potting! XSealed Pot Challenge #012

£50,000 plus - what an amazing total. Well done and especially well done Sue UU
Been potting bits, mainly pound coins but not in any kind of structured way. Found 5p when clearing the living room last weekend and another penny in Bristol today so potted those as well. Lost 2 books of second class stamps a week or so back. Not sure if that would be classed as a kind of roadkill gain for whoever found them?
I will say MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A SMOKE ALARM if you don't already have one. I could have burned my house down (or even worse) last weekend after forgetting to put water in the stove top coffee pot last before sitting down to catch up on this thread. Wife and daughter weren't overly impressed by the 6:50am Saturday morning smoke alarm screech. Already had my life saved by a 3am smoke alarm before when we went to bed and left a candle burning next to Christmas decorations - Living room was quite a mess by the time we (well my wife) managed to put the fire out. I went into some sort of shock and tried to discuss where we would go on holiday with Mrs oMac while she was throwing buckets of water at the living room wall
. If this waffle makes just one person think to get a smoke alarm it was worth it.
Have a fantastic Christmas everyone. I read every post and you all inspire me with your savings however big or small, and move me with some of your sadder stories.27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 50 -

Evening
I have to second what Antomac says about smoke alarms. Your local fire service will put them up and help you plan an escape route too. Have a look at their website. They usually do it for free, so you have nothing to,lose and lots to save xx
